I had a bike wreck that resulted in 3 brain bleeds & a helicopter ride. After that I discovered POC helmets & chose to protect my head as much as I could. POC helmets are lightweight & very comfortable to wear. The POC Octal have large vents that keep your head cool. If you wear sunglasses, there's a spot on the helmet to park them when not needed. The only thing I wish they had would be a visor, because I ride a recumbent trike. I was drawn to the orange color because of both visability & it matches the color of my trike.
I have only had this helmet for a couple months but it has already proven to be the best cycling helmet I have ever owned. It has great air flow, plenty of adjustments for a great fit and was a great deal. I added some loose meshing to the front air vents to keep bugs out but I do that with all of my helmets.
Use of white foam makes helmet highly visible. Large vent holes allow better air flow and an easier head scratch. MIPS is nice feature. Purchase of optional accident notification component could be lifesaver for solo riders. Eyeglass garage may not be useful.
