Review by AnonymousReview for Catlike 2013 Mixino HelmetReviewed 9/12/2013by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastNYLitchfield, CT0 of 1 customers found this review helpful.Top notch.Love this helmet. I've been using catlike helmets since 2007. First the whisper, then the whisper plus and now the mixino. I've been using mine since June (2013), I've ridden about 2000 miles with it and it's by far the best catlike helmet I've used. The retention system is so much better than the previous versions and it no longer interferes with my sunglasses. It's also lighter than the whisper plus and vents just as well (or better). I have one in matte black and one in white. I tend to use the matte black one more often.

When the Catlike helmets become available in the US, I decided to give this one a try. The helmet is feather light and I can barely tell I have it on. The retention system is easy to adjust and feels like the helmet is very secure. Great ventilation, nice build quality, and sharp looks. I'll definitely look to Catlike for my next helmet.

Despite a bad crash (broken radius in one arm and another bone in her wrist in the other), the helmet gave its life to protect her. A large rash and dent in the plastic shell above the temple showed just how hard she hit the ground with her head. She had a slight concussion, but the helmet looked like it saved her from a more serious head injury.

More surface area touching your head less crush. This Catlike design has minimal EPS surface area touching your head, so it will crush easily on impact. That's what we want. I'm still recovering from a brain injury I got wearing a helmet that placed a lot of EPS surface area against my head, and did NOT crush on impact. For six months I couldn't make new memories. Not recommended. This helmet is an awesome answer to that challenge. And excellent fit and airflow. Yay.

The new adjustment reel in the back works very well. The weight is such that it feels like you're not wearing a helmet at all. The ventilation is amazing. Love the design too.

I love them. One is with one of my bikes in another state and another one recently saved my head in a bad bike crash which left me with a broken hand instead of in a coma. The helmet did its job, by sacrificing itself to absorb the energy of the crash. Kudos to Catlike for making this incredible piece of kit!

Review by Biker - Trek, not HarleyReviewed 6/21/2018by Biker - Trek, not HarleyCycling EnthusiastChicago SuburbsGreat design, great fit, however, has a large looking profile on my headGreat aesthetics, fit, and lightweight. Only slightly negative comment is that the profile of the helmet looks big and bulgy on my head. I bought a medium (the correct size for my head per Catlike's measurement table) and it looks like it comes off my head more than some other lowerslimmer profile helmets. I'd still recommend the helmet.

The way the padding sits, it gives this tri-mohawk look. It's pretty great for your Prodigy cover band.

Review by ABCReview for Catlike 2013 Mixino HelmetReviewed 10/24/2013by ABCCycling EnthusiastLoganville Ga2 of 2 customers found this review helpful.Quiet, low profile and secureOnly one concern is the cushion items. Small amount of velcro allows missplacement issues and one separated after only a month of use. The kit came with some extras so a simple replacement was all that was needed. It is the best looking and performing unit I have owned. Fit is superior to other brands and the comments from other riders are solely about the look. Love it!

Review by NYC BillReview for Catlike 2013 Mixino HelmetReviewed 6/23/2013by NYC BillCycling EnthusiastNYC2 of 2 customers found this review helpful.Great fitting, lightweight helmetJust got the helmet in matte black and I'm quite pleased. Nice tight fit, loads of adjustments and a pretty snappy design in my view. I inline skate more than I cycle, and I had the mixino on today for a hard 20k skate in 88F heat - no issues whatsoever. I was slightly surprised that I ended up with a medium (was thinking large), but the medium fits me very well - not sure if the helmet runs slightly big. I had read some complaints about adjustment strap comfort, but I did not find that to be the case at all - definite thumbs up from me.

Review by AnonymousReview for Catlike 2013 Mixino HelmetReviewed 6/12/2013by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastMadison, WI7 of 7 customers found this review helpful.Practical, unique, beautifulCatlike has really come through with the Mixino. What I loved about my Whisper Plus (unique look, superior ventilation) has carried over, an what I didn't love has been eliminated (less customizable fit, weight). The retention system is fantastic, and when I followed the directions for fitting those w a round head, it was the most comfortable fit I have been able to achieve with a bike helmet. The only problem I have with it is that the foreward-most straps, which lay over the temples, are set into the helmet waaay too far forward. I am used to those straps laying over the temples' hairline, but these are set further forward than that, the feel of which drove me nuts. My solution was to pop out the forward connecting points of the retention system, thread the straps aft of those points, and pop the rentention system back in. That positioned the straps exactly where I wanted them, without seemingly compromising function, as pulling down on the straps as hard as I could did not result in the rentention system popping out. I'm glad I was able to figure this solution out, because I would have otherwise been forced to consider returning the helmet. Overall, one gets a very high quality helmet (even for the price), and will revel in the feeling of wearing no helmet at all (but for the straps telling you it's there). Hopefully Catlike will address the positioning of the forward straps, but until then my little workaround seems to be a good solution.
