Good Value, nice features

Good price, decent recent results for crash test protection in Consumer Reports, and love the features of secure mounts front and back for lights. I got the Blackburn Flea lights front and back and they work great. The side mirror mount is also handy, but the mirror itself is rather small. Comfort and adjustability are reasonably good too.

Thank you for your feedback.

I am seen!

I love this helmet. It is visible, comfortable and affords me the confidence I need when I'm sharing the road with traffic. I wore the helmet with the hi i vis vest and was amazed how the traffic reacted by giving me lots of room. After a near accident from a car coming up on me in the shoulder, I now have the confidence to venture out on the roads again.

Pretty practical piece of protection

This is likely my 12th MuniMetro helmet purchase. I give them to my family and use them till the lining wears out. The helmet uses the Bell Flip Mirror which I have found to be perfect. I prefer to ride with a mirror and this combination is my ticket. Not very stylish but I am not out to impress the peloton anyway. The flup mirror from Bell only fits the Bell Metro and Muni helmet visor. Too bad Bell has not expanded the same set up on their other helmets with visors.

Thank you for your feedback.

good helmet, excellent adjustabel fit

My old Giro helmet was giving up the ghost...all the velcro strips and their pads were coming unglued and the helmet felt loose.

The Bell Muni is excellent. The adjustable fit system is clever and quick. Shaking my head no, the helmet moves with me perfectly. AND my old visor-mounted mirror mounted on this visor too. A friend said he could see me coming a block away owing to the bright greenish-yellow.

BTW, I am a daily commuter to work, and have been for 25 years.

Well designed, lightweight helmet

I bought this helmet for general use and touring. My wife tried it on, liked it, so we bought a second one for her. The medium-large size fits both her small-ish and my extra-large heads. Quick to fit, light, well ventilated. We've done a 5-day tour with them so far, and I have no complaints. Visor removes easily. May not look like a racing helmet, but I don't consider that a drawback.

Thank you for your feedback.

Bell Muni helmet

This is my second Bell Muni helmet. Actually, my first was called the Citi, but it appears to be the same model with a different name. Excellent value for the money, with the added attraction of being one of the few helmets with a tab on the back for a taillight.

Thank you for your feedback.

Perfect Fit Incredibly Visible

I use the helmet on daily rides on a combination of city and country roads. Never have had a helmet fit so perfectly straight out of the box.

Great helmet for the Urban hipster or die hard roadie or dirt grinder

Quick personal background. 80's - 90's road racer with a few mtn bike races thrown in. Off the bike for the past decade. Now a FGSS roadie & pseudo gravel grinder. As long as the helmet fits well, is relatively light, has decent passive ventilation and is relatively inexpensive I'm happy. Muni meets those requirements. Retire the helmets after any hit or after few seasons of UV & sweat exposure. Not into spending big $$s on helmets. 5 value based on the BTD price. Bell's fit system has come a long ways since the V-1 Pro days. Muni has tilt adjustment allowing for a bit of tweaking. The knob on the back allows for quick on the fly circumference adjustment. Sliders on the strap allow for positioning. All adjustment features are simple and functional. At 303grams less the visor the weight runs a tad bit heavier than the advertised 290gm. Realistic & acceptable weight variation. Passive ventilation is good. If moving the air flow through the helmet is adequate to keep things about as cool as not wearing a helmet. Wind noise is no issue.

Bottomline No bling helmet. Just functional and inexpensive.

Excellent value and has integrated lights that are small, but very visible.

The elastic and plastic headband has three adjustments and is easy to fit. It feels a little bit more secure than the traditional thumbknob adjuster. Integrated lights are small, but bright. The harness is NOT adjustable, but fits me fine. The ratcheting chin strap is nice. I may loosen it on warm days, and tighten it during windy rides.

Thank you for your feedback.

Very satisfied with this product

I love it. I've been using helmets for over 20 years as a commuter, and this one fits your head like a glove, protects your from sun and the design to receive blackburn gadgets like flea lights and mirror is simply genious. It is really light and last, but not least... it's gorgeous!

I simply love it.

Best chin strap buckle ever

I have 5 recumbent trikes (they are addictive -). I love getting someone who has never ridden a recumbent trike to ride but I insist each one wear a helmet. Though I have several, it is a pain to change chin strap lengths. HOWEVER, this chin strap buckle has a long insert, kind of like a zip tie only releasable, and one just slides it in the right amount to fit. EASY! I also like the, for this helmet, mirror. I believe my mirrors are the most important safety equipment on the trike. crazyguyonabike.comgeneandann

Great visibility and makes a good commuter helmet

The yellow color is excellent for visibility for commuting. I like the built-in flashers, though they are not super bright and are only really visible in the dark. The helmet's fit adjustment is a little odd. You have to snap the band into the approximate size holes in the helmet structure, and then it is kept snug by an elastic band in the back. It is comfortable enough, but not as adjustable as I'd prefer. The chin strap has a sliding (ratcheting) clip, which is ideal for being able to snug the strap just right with or without an earbandhatbalaclava.

Great commuter helmet!

Very functional. Works great with my Blackburn Flea front and tail lights. I generally wear a medlarge helmet. As a one size fits all with some internal adjustments, it's a bit snug and tight with my winter cap on underneath but should be fine for the rest of the year.

Thank you for your feedback.

Good Bell Metro replacement

This is replacing a worn out (and crashed) Bell Metro. My Metro was a dark color but I chose the hi-vis green for the Muni. I tend to wear muted colored clothing when I ride so now I am always wearing at least one item that is brightly colored.

Other than color, there are some things I like better about the Muni, and some things I like better about the Metro. The Metro had a snap-on rain cover and ear covers, both of which were great in winter. I had already switched to behind the neck ear-muffs but I'll need a rain cover before winter. The Muni accepts the Bell flip mirror but I vastly prefer the Take a Look clip on mirror.

I wash the straps regularly and the Muni is a little less convenient in comparison. The straps are sewn to the rear plastic retention cage. The cage is removable so I can throw it and the attached straps in the washer. The built-in lights must be popped off first which takes 2 seconds.

I wear a 7 and 38 inch hat size and the ML Muni set to the largest adjustment fits snugly but not too tight. It feels much more secure than the older Bell.

Thank you for your feedback.

commuting to touring

I have been stuck for over 10 years with the Bell Metro and now Muni helmet because of the visor mirror. Although the style is clunky and not sleek it is my helmet of choice because of its practicality mirror, tabs for lights. Good coverage, good price. The fit system is not the best as it takes too much work to get adjusted and it is not the most comfortable helmet. The versatility is what keeps me coming back.

Thank you for your feedback.

I like the lights

The reason to get this helment is for the integrated lights and the add-on lights. The helmet fits my head. Do not buy the integrated mirror (too small, too hard to adjust).

Awesome helmet with optional lighting and mirrors.

The helmet has a great built in spot for a flea light. Bought the mirror attachment that folds away neatly as well.

Great for what it is.

This is your basic helmet. It has a no-nonsense look, and it fits my head well. I like the visor that I clip my mirror to, and clip on the back for a visibility light. And the price is right too.
