restored my wife's Raleigh road bike with these OE Kenda K35 27

These are the original tires that came with her road bike, solid handling, quiet, concentric tire, smooth overall ride. A good value for the money as well. Mounted up nice and straight with typical minor adjustments on the rim.

Just as Kenda says The K35 is a good basic tire for all-around ROAD use.

1000 miles of road use. No complaints there. Good performance on wet roads. Not too much rolling resistance at recommended (90 PSI) pressure. One puncture - a thorn. Don't be deceived by the tire's rugged appearance however. The tread is compounded for ROAD use, not for gravel. These tires worked flawlessly on pavement and hardpack (crushed stone and dirt) trails. Mountain bike trails not so much. Large, sharp-edged stones will eventually peel the nice sticky road rubber off the tire casings.

Very pleased with these tires

The tires arrived quickly, fit well, and were easy to install on my ancient Nishiki Sport. I don't ride a lot, only 3 times per week for 30-60 minutes each, only on pavement, which is almost always dry. I like the ride from these tires, and they seem to be well-made and durable. Very satisfied with the product and with the service from biketiresdirect.

Looks great on my classic

These tires look great on my restored 1972 Raleigh 5 speed, very period. Easy mounting and nice and supple. Also a nice price!

Perfect for my old Schwinn Lightweight, &40a Continental&41

Mounts easily on the original Schwinn steel rims. While I purchased these tires to allow me to continue to use the Continental on an indoor trainer, I may actually take the bike out occasionally to just see how it rides on the street again, something it hasn't done since the 1980's.

Using a bike on a trainer usually results in quick rear tire wear, but I've been pleasantly surprised at how little the rear tire seems to be wearing on the trainer, which after hours of use still shows some flashing from the molding process on the center rib of the tire. Also, I'm not finding a lot of ground up tire residue around the trainer as I did with the previous tires.

These tires also preserve the look of the original skinwall tires the bike had when it was new (which was about 1970).

Very nice road traction and handling with these Kenda K35 tires

I used these new tires for an older Fuji 10 speed road bike and they ride really nice, the only thing I don't like is that gumwalls tend to dry rot after 2 or 3 years.

A Great Value For Occasional Use

I have gone through three sets of these tires as a bike commuter in Seattle. While a great value for a weekend rider, these tires age fairly quickly under heavy use. My current set has cracks in the sidewall despite never filling to the recommended PSI. I think that these are good for the occasional rider but someone who relies on their bike should consider paying more for a more durable product.

Good tire for vintage restorations!

This tire seems to work well on non-hook Dunlop Special Lightweight steel rims. I have ridden them now at 60 pounds with no problems. Really any higher on a steel rim, and an old Raleigh Gran Sport is going to be a bone shaker anyway.

Of course like with any non-hook rims, mounting and inflation has to be done carefully to avoid blow-off. Probably about as close as one can get to the original Dunlop hp tires.

Great ride for a great price!

This is a great gum wall tire with a great ride. Love the high pressure, makes for a smooth low resistance ride. This is a pavement riding bike used for recreational riding.

Decent tire for the money

Good inexpensive tire. Only beef really is with aesthetics - the gumwall is not even around the sides, looks like it's a bit off center on the ones I've purchased. But I'm anal, and not many people are going to pay much attention to that - it's a minor issue.

Great tire

Only have about 150 miles on tires as of this review but can't be happier so far. Tires look great on Schwinn World Sport. Couldn't beat the price and shipping was fast. I would highly recommend these tires for any 27 road bike

exactly what I was looking for

These tires went on my first rebuild project, a 25-30 year old steel frame road bike for my 12 year old son. (A beginning cyclist) these are perfect for functionality and value. A good tire for the purpose

Classic ten speed tire.

Great, old school tire at an unbeatable price. Bought a set for a vintage Motobecane 12 speed I picked up on the cheap at a thrift store, the tires were rotten and needed replacing.

It was tougher getting the old tires off than it was putting the k35's on. They popped into place with little effort. Once finished, (don't forget the tubes and rimstrips) the result is sweet. The old French bike looks so good with them on and is ready to hit the road. Highly recommended!

Useful for us as a bicycle mission organization

We are a bicycle mission organization and many bicycle come with dry-rot in the tires. The reasonable cost of this tire allows us to make use of the bike for those in financial need.

good bargain roadtrail compromise for older road bikes

I was a bit put off by these tires when I first mounted them because they did not appear to be seating evenly. I suspected that they might be slightly larger in diameter than spec. However, by deflating and re-inflating them several times I was able to mount them in a satisfactory manner. Once mounted, they have given me no trouble. I have about 375 miles on them at present - all on paved surfaces thus far. Their somewhat triangular profile appears to work well to reduce rolling resistance while the large cross-section provides the shock absorption and grip in the slippery stuff that you'd expect from a 27x1.25 tire.

K35 worth the price!

Ive only had these tires on for about a month now, but they seem to wear great. I notice 90 psi is recommended, but that ride was a tad too bumpy for me, 80 psi seems about right. These tires are a steal for the price and the shippping was quick. Definitely recommend the K35s for commuters!
