Zipp 404 Tubular Wheelset

I have mine laced to a wireless powertap with an edge 705 computer. I use them for everyday riding. I just tossed 2.5k miles over this set and had to replace my conti 4k laced on them from over use. The rear tire had several bald spots. At any rate, I've hit potholes and ridden some of the most poorly maintained roads oklahoma has to offer and these rims haven't scratched cracked and are perfectly true. I used to think that those guys on the group rides with their super fancy expensive wheel were just showing off. Truth is - the ride is super comfy. I'm not sure if it is the wheel or the tube, but the handling is superb. I will probably never ride clincher again. Swapping out the new tubes with proper gluing etc took about an hour. I had one flat just after I bought them that took me a total of 4-5 minutes to change pedal to pedal. I road on that backup tire for like 500 miles before I glued it on. Are these wheels faster. Really not impressed with that. I ride at 18-20 on my own and haven't noticed a measurable difference. Possibly a little faster with an oblique headwind. At first, side winds are a little pushy, but recently I have finished 50 mile group rides with Cat 1,2 in 30-40 mile an hour cross winds with no problems. I still have the original swiss brakes that show little wear. I do intervals on a 2000 foot climb 6-10 times a day on weekends and haven't noticed hardly any problems with breaking or flex. I'm an average rider and can put out 300 watts for almost 1 hour if I need too. I weigh 160 pounds most weeks. I took the decals off with goof off - not the get but original. The decals looked really nice but a little too over the top for group rides. Only complaint is that the carbon has a subtle off green look that is noticeable in direct sun. I will be interesting to see how long they last. Once and if they breakdown I will be trying some edge rims next.
