Rugged, easy to installremove, secure when in place, and holds a lot of stuff.
I looked at a good number of grocery panniers and baskets before settling upon the B.T.D. version. All the other ones had some quirk I didn't like, for example mesh sidewalls, un-rubberized rack hooks, or an unnecessarily high price. This one, by contrast, is no nonsense, all tough nylon, and has the rubberized hooks so my rack doesn't get gouged. The price is reasonable when compared to the spectrum of other available panniers.
In actual use, they're great. They take about ten seconds to installuninstall, fold away neatly and trim to the bike when not in use, and hold a ton of stuff. The folding clip doubles as cargo stowage when you have the bags loaded you can clip it across the top to keep stuff from bouncing out. Fully extended and filled, they don't stick out much wider than the handlebars, if at all, so they're fairly transparent from a rider's perspective. That said, a few times I've banged them against polls and in other tight spaces along my commute, but the tough nylon material barely has a scuff to show for it, and the secure mounting keeps them in place.
All in all, these panniers are making my life so much easier. A bike is my primary mode of transportation, and with the panniers I can safely stow just about anything I might need to bring briefcase, etc, and with two of them I can grab about a week's worth of groceries in one run. Highly, highly recommended for the commuting rider, and really anyone that needs practical and abundant cargo space on their bike.
