BikeTiresDirect Neoprene Booties

I think most of us here at Bike Tires Direct swear by these booties during rainy, cold Portland winters! They've kept my feet dry during many commutes and if you lose or destroy one or both, they're affordable enough that you can easily replace them. I seriously do not leave my home without them from November-April.

I have used these booties on 45 to 90 minute rides in the low 40s with rain and the low 30s dry. They provide good protection from the rain and keep the feet cozy. Good fit on a road shoe - be sure to check the sizing chart and don't order for a real tight fit. The material has some stretch, but should be snug, not real tight.

The material is neoprene with no reinforcement anywhere, so they are not very rugged. If you are a commuter and make a lot of stops at intersections or need to walk some distance across a parking lot, you'll probably find the neoprene wears quickly at the points where the shoe contacts the pavement. But you will need to pay a lot more to get a more rugged bootie. So overall it's a good value at this price.

First, these booties are nice and warm for 2.5 hour rides at 40 degrees. Second, the sizing is true. Third, they are a breeze to put on and not too tight around the ankle or calf like PI Amfibs are. Fourth, the price is right!

As a prior reviewer said, the bottoms get a little rough with lots of riding, and especially with any walking, but they continue to work well. If you ride mountain shoes like my husband, the bottoms will wear much faster than with road shoes which I ride.
