Veloflex Record Clincher Road Tire

These tires suck. 5 rides, 3 flats. The first thing you will notice when you take them out of the box is that they are paper thin. I'm pretty sure they are made out of paper too. Everything on the road is going to penetrate these tires. One of my flats was from a tiny little rock the size of a pinhead. I'm pretty sure the roads are covered with little rocks like this, so its hard to see how you could ever avoid getting a flat. I'm going back to Continental's AttackForce tires. Last set I had went 2000 miles without a flat.

No ordinary tire. Super light, great feel, and fast. Not an everyday rider tire, but great for fast spin up in races and hill climbs on a light wheelset. If you expect to ride this on bike paths, dirt roads, or to the grocery, its that wrong tire, and not what you buy it for. Veloflex is legendary for their high perforance race tires. Raced for one year on it and will use again for this year with no flats. As Katie Compton said " If your getting flats don't blame the tire, blame your riding." Fast and light does not equal long durability and incrediable flat resistance.

This is not an everyday training tire to respond to the review above. This is a full out time trial TT tire for race day only. It is great for that - not much else. Very fast in TTs. I do prefer the tubular version of this however
