Veloflex Pave Clincher Road Tire

2000 miles on these gorgeous Italian made sweathearts. Tubulars for years and these do match up. Surprise...down to the Kevlar and needed tires now. Local shop for 4000S or sit out the weekend. Contis are very nice but...will return to Veloflex over the winter. They just feel better.

I know the Veloflex Pave's are not supposed to be very durable, but I've got well over 2000 miles on mine including a 200k, 300k, a double and Furnace Cr. rough roads! Vittoria Cx's are close, but no tire I've ever ridden ProRace 3, 4000S, Forteza TriComp feels as good. Admittedly they are a bit pricey but worth every penny.

Before putting these tires on my bike I read the reviews and knew not to expect exceptional durability. With that in mind, they're excellent tires. The Pave isn't exactly fragile, but compared to the Conti GP4000, they don't stack up. However, they are noticeably lighter, faster, more nimble, and fun to ride than any other mostly Conti that I've ever ridden. As long as you understand that you're buying the Pave for performance over endurance, you should really enjoy riding this tire on your lightweight.
