Thomson Elite Seatpost

It's pretty, it's light, it's tough and it's a great value. This is one of the few products with which you can truly have it all. The clamp holds your saddle rails incomparably securely without any need for torquing the bolts heavily. Additionally, small saddle adjustments are extraordinarily simple with this post. For whatever bike you're building for whatever purpose, a Thomson seatpost is the no-brainer choice. I have 5 bikes that use a seatpost, no brain and 5 Thomsons.

If the Elite isn't light enough for you, don't think carbon... think Masterpiece. It's the same post, except Thomson's machinists have obsessively CNC'd off every bit of superfluous material to make it even lighter.

The Thomson seatposts are beautifully crafted and incredibly easy to adjust. The surface is very slightly roughened so it's easy to adjust but still rock solid.

The two-bolt configuration makes it cake to get your position exactly right and there's really precise markings on everything so you can read measurements right off of it to set up your next bike.

The weight is great too--you'd have to go to carbon at double the price to get much lighter than this. I'd use this post on any bike.
