Shimano Ultegra ST-6700 Shift/Brake Levers

The ergonomics and functionality of Ultegra STI shift/brake levers have been completely re-designed with trickle-down technology from Dura-Ace 7900. They have the same great ergonomic hood design as the 7900, which are made to be right and left hand specific. The carbon brake lever blades have an outward sweep for easier shift throws. The carbon resists cold better than alloy so it is friendlier on the fingers. The levers also have reach adjustment by inserting included shims (3.5 or 7 degrees). New pivot placement for easier braking while on the hoods. Both brake and shift housing are routed under the bar tape. Unlike the 7900, the Ultegra 6700 levers still have front derailleur trim. The levers can still make up to 3 downshifts (easier gear) at a time and one upshift (harder gear). Designed to work with a 6700 front derailleur. They will work with older Shimano 10-speed front derailleurs and 7900, but not perfectly (Shimano calls it B compatible). The shifters are also compatible with older Shimano 10-speed rear deraileurs, but are only B compatible with 7900 rear derailleurs. Only Ultegra 6700 and Dura-Ace 7900 brakes are recommended as the levers pull more cable which would cause older Shimano brakes to have little modulation for an on/off feel.
