Shimano WH-RS80-C24-CL Clincher Wheelset

The high-end features and technology of the WH-7850-C24-CL Dura-Ace wheelset at a more affordable price. The Shimano WH-RS80-C24-CL uses a carbon/aluminum hybrid rim where the carbon is actually structural rather than a fairing as used by some wheel manufacturers. It has a standard aluminum braking surface leading into a half millimeter thick alloy rim which is then reinforced with a carbon fiber layer on top. Much like carbon cranks that use an alloy skeleton this hybrid leads to a light yet incredibly stiff wheelset. This is only increased with Shimano's super stiff Ultegra level hubs with an oversize 15mm 7075 alloy axle and wide rear flanges.
