The electronic shifting revolution is upon us with the Dura-Ace Di2 (Digital Integrated Intelligence) components by Shimano. The FD-7970 front derailleur is particularly impressive due to its capability to self-trim. Thanks to the 'Integrated Intelligence,' the front derailleur knows what rear cog you are in and trims accordingly. You also get the incredibly accurate shifting of an electronic system which uses a worm drive to eliminate the pull and pull-back associated with a derailleur spring and cable. Once properly set up, the digital derailleur shifts with ultimate precision every time. The programmed motion also prevents chain drops by making the shift and then moving back to a neutral position over the chain and chainring. Limit screws are set manually. Compatible with Compact or Standard double cranks. Braze-on only (adapter clamps available separately). Sold as derailleur only with no cables. 121 grams.
