The Shimano Dura-Ace SM-BCR1 Battery Charger and SM-BCC1-2 power cable are needed to recharge the Di2 SM-BTR1 rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Simply put the battery in the charger plug it in a socket and forget about it. A led glows to let you know it is still charging and turns itself off when finished. The battery can be charged partially as well for a quick refresh or left in the dock for way too long. The included power cable is a Type A cable for use in the United States and Canada. Shimano sells other varieties of power cables for use in other countries that can be used with the same charging unit. The unit is also compact and easy to travel with.
