Shimano Ultegra 6700 Group Set

Ultegra has long been recognized as a solid performer and thanks to Shimano’s Systems Engineering approach the 6700 series continues to deliver. Lighter, more stylish and advanced by the latest Dura-Ace technologies, new Ultegra is a beautifully balanced group with optimal performance and specifications. Its unprecedented racing DNA takes shifting and braking to another level, with a weight reduction of 150g versus 6600 series.

The Ultegra 6700 crankset is based on the Dura Ace crankset with a hollow outer ring. You'll notice that there are no chain ring bolts coming through the outside ring. Shimano states that this design makes for a stiffer crankset. The shifters are designed after the DA 7900 with a changed pivot point for the braking to be easier from the hoods and the shift cables to be routed under the bar tape for a cleaner look. Unlike the 7900 though, the 6700 still maintains the "trim" feature of the front, or left, shifter. The rear derailleur has composite plastic plates and are wider for stiffness.
