The Service Course isn't as light as Zipp's high-end carbon handlebars, yet excels in durability and performance. In fact, aluminum bars are still the choice of many pro riders for their reliability and reasonable weight.
The 7050 aluminum construction ensures strength and stiffness while keeping the weight down. Plus, this standard Service Course model has just a few of extra grams over the pricier SL bar.
This Traditional Bend version is basically an ergo bar for riders who don't like ergo bars. The curve is mostly round to ensure comfortable transitions between the hoods and drop area, yet the drop remains relatively shallow by traditional standards for easy lever control in all positions. Slightly flared ends help eliminate wrist discomfort. The reach for the Traditional Bend measures 87.5mm and the drop measures 130mm. A Short and Shallow bend is also available with a curve more similar to most modern ergo-bars.
The Service Course Handlebar features a clamp diameter of 31.8mm and is available in 40, 42, 44 and 46cm widths (measured outside to outside). The claimed weight is 300 grams in a size 42. Color: Flat Black.
