Everyday aerodynamics. Zipp's 101 Alloy Wheels bring their advanced aerodynamic technology to a durable and lightweight 30mm alloy clincher rim.
Zipp's rims use a unique proprietary toroidal shape which exceeds the aerodynamic performance of deeper V-shaped alloy rims in wind tunnel tests, while maintaining a lower weight. The rim's profile has also been made wider than a typical race rim in order to smooth airflow around the tire more effectively. As an added bonus, the wider rim increases the wheel's overall strength while simultaneously reducing the likelihood of pinch flats common with race tire widths. The aluminum construction is also inherently tougher than carbon designs, making the 101 a great choice for the most demanding competitive use.
The 88 front and 188 rear hubs roll on top quality Swiss-made steel bearings. Pre-load adjustment ensures silky smooth performance, and the 17mm oversized axle provides unmatched stiffness. Sapim CX-Ray stainless steel straight-pull bladed spokes provide additional weight savings, aerodynamics and strength. 18 spokes front laced radially. 20 spokes rear laced radially on the drive side and 1x on the non-drive side. Hand-built in Speedway, Indiana to exacting tolerances.
The Zipp 101 Wheelset is available with a Campagnolo 9/10/11 or Shimano/SRAM 8/9/10/11* freehub body. 700c (622 ISO). For use with clincher tires. Recommended tire width: 21mm. Maximum recommended rider weight limit: 250lbs.
Actual weights for the 101 Alloy Clincher Wheelset are 735g Front, 857g Rear, 1592g/set.
Included accessories: Quick release skewers, rim strips, valve extenders, and user manual.
*Note: Zipp's current Shimano freehub body is compatible with 11-speed systems. A spacer is included for compatibility with 8/9/10-speed cassettes.

Best bike purchase I've made in a while
Originally I bought these are race-only wheels, but since riding them, I can't give them up...they have become everyday wheels. I'm either doing long road rides by myself, or local criterium races on these wheels, and I've had no problems with them.
I chose not to pair them with the Zipp designed tire built specifically for them, I pared them with Continential 4000 S tires with no complaints
