Vittoria's elite Diamante Pro Clincher enters its third generation with a new radial casing construction for even more efficient performance.

Like last year's model, the Diamante Pro III Radiale boasts a 220 TPI nylon casing for an incredibly supple ride quality and great handling characteristics. But this new radial model improves on those attributes even more; all the cord plies of the radial casing are set at 85° to the direction of travel (from bead to bead). This mean's that the cords which make up the casing deform freely as the tire flexes, greatly reducing friction and improving grip compared to traditional tires which are constructed from overlapping cords.

Vittoria also states that this added flexibility allows them to produce the Diamante Pro III in widths which are 1mm narrower than typical racing tires, resulting in reduced weight and improved aerodynamics with no sacrifice to ride quality.

Bead to bead flat protection is provided by the featherweight PRB 2.0 puncture protection belt. And on the surface, a slick center and lightly textured shoulders further the balance of speed and grip in all road conditions.

The Diamante Pro III Radiale is available in Black only. Available sizes: 700c x 22 (22-622 ISO) 195 grams 100-145 PSI; 700c x 24mm (24-622 ISO) 210 grams. 100-120 PSI.

Fast tires with an amazing ride

I've put 600km on a pair, 22mm front & 24mm rear. 110psi in latex tubes front & rear gives me optimal 15% tire deflection at my weight. My favorite clincher tires are Veloflex Master and Challenge Forte's but these tires have an amazingly smooth ride, easily as good maybe even a little better. They also feel light and fast. The handling seems a little different with the radial construction - they turn in faster than the standard bias ply construction. It felt a little sketchy at first but now that they're broken in & I'm used to it I like it. I've riding on wet roads a few times and wet grip seems fine. Durability seems good so far, they don't seem to pick up many small cuts. I did have one front flat, but that was hitting a broken bottle that would have cut down any tire, and I was able to repair the casing. Not sure why they are listed as training tires, they are better than 90% of the tires BTD has in their racing category. It is more a racing tire than a heavy duty training tire. Overall, I'm happy I tried a pair and feel the radial construction is an advance in tire technology.

Super Supple, but...

I needed a new tire on my rear wheel, so I thought I'd give the 700x24 a try on my 22mm-wide rim. The Diamante Pro Radiale feels nothing like the tires I've been used to, such as Continental GP 4000 and Schwalbe Durano. It is far in a way the most comfortable and supple tire I've ever ridden, and I soon fell in love with it. It is smooth, fast and holds incredibly through the corners. Alas, the tread was worn through to the casing in three spots before I even had 1000 miles on it. The tire just didn't last like I expected. I guess that's the trade-off With this tire you get incredible handling but at a cost per mile that might be about three-times more than other similarly priced tires.

an excellent addition to the vittoria line

this tire bears no resemblance to it's namesake, diamante. the pro radiale 3 is a quantum jump forward. 220 tpi, vittoria gives this tire a full nylon cased radial body. the performance is excellent, grippy feel on the road and the radial feel on curves and turns is excellent. i am a fan of this tire. i ride the high end vittoria stuff, corsa evo's, pave's and the pro radiale 3 is a welcome addition to their line and at a good price point.

FAST

I found the Vittoria Diamante Pro Radiale 111 to be fast and surprisingly comfortable for a 22mm tire. I have them on Dura Ace 24 carbon wheels on a vintage Merckx TI frame. Ex racer now enjoying both long slow and short fast club rides.
