The Upstand Bike Stand isn't a kickstand. It's a collapsible carbon fiber pole which supports your bike at the rear wheel, allowing you to park anywhere with reduced risk of scrapes, scratches or other damage.
The best part is, the stand isn't permanently attached. It's held in place using a small bracket, which is installed at the rear quick release skewer, and adds just 15g to your bike. An alloy cap and magnet secure the Upstand to the steel bracket, making installation and removal a snap. Once removed, the carbon fiber pole collapses into two pieces for easy transportation in your jersey pocket of gear bag.
The Upstand Bike Stand is designed for road bikes with 700c wheels. Each stand includes two tabs, allowing you to use the pole on two bikes without the need for additional hardware. The quick release bracket weighs 15 grams. The stand alone is 37 grams. Total product weight is 52 grams.

It's light, it's easy to use, and it works.
I saw this product on one of the "cool bike tech" websites and thought this would be a nice holiday gift product for the avid road cyclist. So I ordered a bunch to put on our site. Of course, I had to try it out on my commuter bike to see how well it works.
I'm pretty impressed. It is easy to use and very light, but the bike is surprisingly stable on the stand. For those of us that like to do rides with coffee stops, or for bike touring, this is a great little product. The removable stand is easy to slip into your jersey pocket or a large bag and weighs almost nothing. If you choose to leave it at home, the small attachment to your bike is light and inconspicuous.
Great little gadget if you want to park your bike occasionally but wouldn't consider a traditional kickstand.

needs work for not being stolen off your bike at the coffee shop.lol.peace
here's the problem with these stand products compared to a kickstand(god forbid)is that someone can walk up and steal it and your out 40 dollars and your bike is on the ground,and it's just one more thing to carry.use the kick stand.You will still look cool don't worry.peace.
