Solid, survived the first airline trip!

Hard clam-shell cases are all quite similar. The Thule comes with a lightweight bag that doubles as a backpack (with cord straps so not for all day or heavy items). No issues on my first flight and no damage. Has a couple of 'D' rings to put a nylon zip tie through that security can cut off if they open the case.

Don't pack Vittoria pit stop or CO2 cylinders in the case or it will be opened after X-ray.

Bike didn't fit

I purchased this case specifically to fit a 2012, 26 S-Works Epic. The bike WOULD NOT FIT in the case as detailed in the instructions. It will fit w the forks and derailleur removed, but that's NOT how it's advertised. Breaking the bike down that far increase the work inout of the case and also put more single parts in the case to be bumped around during handling. I service my own bike, can break them downbuild them up just fine. I was not at all satisfied w this purchase.

We've found that almost all XL size bikes require more disassembly in order to fit in a travel case. With full-suspension bikes, it's sometimes possible to have a qualified mechanic unbolt the shock, so you can fold the whole bike in on itself (well padded between contact points) and save significant length.
