Sidi steps it up with the Wire. Their new top road shoe shaves 60 grams off of the previous Ergo 3 while simultaneously offering even better comfort and superior adjustability. It's no surprise that the Wire has already become the go-to option for world tour athletes and pro racers across the globe.

The most noticeable change over the Ergo 3 is Sidi's new Techno 3 closure system. With three retention points across the upper, this Velcro®-free design allows for an incredibly secure, precise fit. The new low friction line material makes fine-tuned adjustments easier than ever, and provides improved durability over the previous Techno 2 closure. The topmost Techno 3 line is linked to a classic Sidi Caliper Buckle for familiar fit customization where its easiest to access from the saddle. Finally the updated Soft Instep Closure System® and padded tongue have been made lighter, helping to boost your competitive edge while simultaneously eliminating pressure points and discomfort.

At the heart of the Wire is Sidi's updated Vent Carbon Sole®. Like the previous design, air channeling ports have been added for heat dispassion and comfort across a wide range of race conditions. But in this new sole, the vents have been made closeable, allowing riders to block out the wind on chilly rides as well. The T700 Carbon construction delivers a feathery low weight without giving up the stiffness demanded by competitive athletes.

Vented Dual Density insoles provide comfort underfoot and have corresponding perforations to the sole vents for unimpeded airflow. The Adjustable Heel Retention Device® features ventilated lower area as well, along with a wider design and more compliant material. The result helps eliminate power robbing heel lift without discomfort.

The Wire Vent Carbon Road Shoe is available in Black Vernice, Red/White Vernice, and White Vernice. Of course virtually all of the Wire's small parts are replaceable and readily available, ensuring your shoes stay on the road, season after season. Compatible with standard three bolt road pedals.

Best Cycling shoe I've ever owned

While pricey this shoe fits my foot like a glove. I'm coming from a Shimano R191 which had too much room in the toe box and started breaking down after a year. The Sidi with the wire system and adjustable heel cup allowed me to get the correct fit over the entire foot. We'll have to see how well it holds up to the heat here in AZ.

The shoe sizes run smaller than others, I wear a 45 Shimano and Louis Garneau, but had to get a 46 in this Sidi model. I tried other Sidi's and I had to get a half size large, but this model, I had to get a full size large for my 10.5(US) foot.

Comfy shoe but poor adhesion between upper and sole.

This shoe fits like a glove with an incredibly even distribution on the laces. No dead spots. Super easy to get in and set to your tightness. I was initially concerned about the white but it cleans easily. One issue I had at 6 months was the sole separated from the upper. It creaked and it took me forever to isolate it to the sole and upper separation. When SIDI was contacted about a repair or warranty, they did not reply for 6 weeks and then stated that this was not covered. I have subsequently had them repaired at a local shoe repair place but it is noticeable as the upper stretched at the separation point. The shoes are still wearable but beware that this could be a problem. I was somewhat surprised by the responsiveness and warrantee on these. I have other SIDI shoes that have been excellent. 6 months on a pair of shoes this pricey is a bit of a problem.

Hi John,

Thanks for your review! We're sorry to hear you had this problem with your shoes. If you didn't contact us about your issue before getting in touch with SIDI, we encourage you to do so next time—often it's easier to let us deal directly with the manufacturer when it comes to warranty issues. We're glad to hear you were able to get your shoes repaired locally.

Thanks,
Stacia

Nice, buy don't stay clean long. Front vent has issues.

The wire isn't wire, so the white quickly changes from white to grey. The front vent when opened slightly interferes with my dura pedals and could cost time/places at the start of a crit. Also, to tighten the front of the shoe, you have to crank the middle as well. Worth [$], I think not, but at least they look good.

Great shoes for a high price.

You get what you pay for and they are terrific. They are lightweight and the tighthening mechanisms with the dial lace assembly allows you to snug the shoes tightly and evenly with no foot numbness. I ride a lot of hills (up and down in the saddle and on the pedals) and have noticed some foot soreness over the pedals from time to time. This likely means the sole is a little thinner and more flexible than my last pair but I expect the feet will get used to it over time. I recommend them.

Best shoe ever

THis shoe is the best ever, you can totally customize the fit with this closure system. The shoe feels like it is a part of the pedal and all of the power goes into the pedal. Just a solid shoe.

Love them alot

I read all the reviews and they were right. It's a premium shoe, but worth it. The wire system really allows you to get a snug fit.

Great fitting, Great looking shoe

this shoe is a great fitting shoe and the wire system is is very secure. (Be careful not to over tighten) If i had to complain about something it would be how you need to grab the wire and then release the strap. If your on the market for a new riding shoe this would be a great choice. A bit on the expensive side but i had some VIP points combined with a sale and it brought it down to a good price. Sidi phone support does a great job also. I had an issue with the strap on a very old pair of Sidi's and they sent me a complete new set of straps for that shoe no charge.

Awesome shoe !

I've tried a number of top end models and brands. They fit great especially once broken in. The full wire adjustment feature is even better than the ratchet closure, more precise and closer fitting. Super heel hold-down.

Greatest pair of shoes IMHO

Although price is typical Sidi...high, these shoes are pure PRO and this is why. They fit superbly, are so creature feature comfy with incremental adjustability the smallest click and offer unparalleled performance and looks that beats all others hands down. My friends, if you're serious about your cycling, ride hard, train hard or just want to look top shelf, you've go to have a pair of SIDI's and in your shoe rotation. Color is your choice.
