Shimano's most technically advanced shoe to date. The SH-R315 is new for 2011- delivering updated materials, a redesigned carbon sole and proven custom fit technology.

The R315's most striking innovation is its Rovenica upper. This ultra-fine fiber synthetic leather provides amazingly supple anatomic support and impressive breathability. The material also features excellent elasticity and a high 'memory' to ensure a glove-like fit. Venting ports feature a temperature control honey comb mesh.

The integrated Hollow Channel weaved carbon sole and heel cup with anti-slip lining improve overall stiffness and prevent power robbing heel lift. Additional underfoot ventilation ports further maximize airflow.

Asymmetric retention buckles feature replaceable parts and dual off-set straps keep pressure points at bay. 3-bolt cleat compatible only (without adapters). Color: White/Black/Red. 286g, 42.5.

The moldable insole can be heated in a home oven and then molded around the foot by placing it inside the shoe and standing on it while warm. Additional support is included for both the arch and metatarsal pads, which can be affixed to the insole after the insole cools. For the best molding results, you can get them vacuum-fitted at an Authorized Shimano footwear dealer.

Lightweight, stiff, and unbelievably comfortable

Best fitting cycling shoes I've owned. Right out of the box, they felt great, but after heat-molding them to my feet, they were sensational. I don't live near a shop with the right equipment, so I just warmed them up in the oven at the lowest setting for a few minutes and put them on my feet. I had a friend press firmly against the shoes (one hand on the heel and one over the top) for the first minute or so. This seemed to work - the shoes fit snug and they're just incredibly comfortable.

The buckle is also really easy to use - works better than my previous Sidi shoes.

great shoe!

If you find sidis' a little tight in the 'toe box' area, this may be the shoe for you, after having a set of shimano shoes 12 years ago (which i loved) I went for a set of sidis' last time, now using the shimano 315's- what a dramatic difference!-much better shoe-stiffness, ventilation and roomy toe box area!! Up out of the saddle on a climb it really makes a difference when you foot isnt constricted. Shoe quality is second to none, note that they run 'slightly' large, fit guide is fairly accurate though. Great shoe, excellent price, super quick delivery, thank you guys B.T.D.!!Rock hard, roll fast!

Even better than before.

Having previously owned the SH-R310, I was a little dubious about Shimano's claims that they improved this version. Not to worry - it really has been changed for the better. The synthetic leather uppers are now thinner and conform more closely to the foot (and the old version was the best fitting road shoe I've ever had). The new material is also used on the straps, making them much easier to wrap over the top of the shoe. Ventilation seems to have been improved (with a thin sock, you can feel the airflow through the vents on the front of the shoe), and some weight has been shaved from the shoe.

One of the best features has been retained - the heavily padded heel, with its cat's tongue fabric that prevents slippage. Ditto for the superstiff carbon sole.

I once thought I was going to be a Sidi wearer for life. I was wrong. )

Works well with yellow Superfeet insole

Shimano shoes just fit my orthotics and my feet better than Bontrager, Sidi nad numerous other shoes that I have tried. You just have to keep trying shoes until you find one that works.
