Shimano ushers in a new era of mechanical disc brakes with the all-new CX75.
In a field dominated by re-purposed MTB brakes, this Ultegra-level caliper is a much overdue alternative for today's disc compatible 'cross machines. It's designed specifically to meet the demands of the sport, featuring a totally sealed construction and fully adjustable inboard and outboard pads.
By knocking about 20% of the body material off their previous mechanical brake, Shimano has managed to significantly lower weight. And you won't miss the extra material either; according to Shimano the CX-75 delivers a 30% performance increases over their previous generation mechanical disc systems as well.
The CX75 Mechanical Disc Caliper is compatible with post-mount frames and forks. Rotors, cables and housing are not included. Priced per set of calipers, order two for a complete bike. Actual weight: 154g/caliper. 268g w/160mm rotor (not included).
Note: This brake is designed specifically for use with newer Shimano STI Levers which feature the Super SLR cable pull. Shimano recommends pairing these calipers with their IceTech MTB rotors only (sold separately).

Great Upgrade
I had the Shimano M416 mechanical brakes on my bike and they work pretty good. I liked that these new versions weigh a lot less and look really nice; but the big news is that they work great. I have used some of the other mechanical brakes offered, but never liked the power they produce. These feel the closest I've felt to a hydraulic brake. I also use them with a non-Shimano lever and they still work great. I use the ice-tech rotors which are light, stiff and don't make a lot of noise. In my opinion these are one of the best mechanical brakes offered right now.
