Ride the modern heir of the saddle used by greats such as Cipollini, Boonen, McEwen, and LeMond. The "e" in REGALe represents the evolution of a model that needs no introduction: the REGAL. Born in the 1970s and ridden to multiple championships, the heart of the REGAL design is as comfortable today as it was way back when. 278mm x 150mm. 228g.

  • Biofoam padding's biodynamic structure follows the movements of the pelvis during pedaling, guaranteeing comfort, reduced weight and lasting resistance
  • CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) shell keeps it shape over time
  • Microfeel cover is breathable and hard wearing
  • Corezone double-injection increases the level of comfort on specific points of the saddle
  • Xsilite composition rails are lighter and stronger than titanium and have a water-resistant finish

An improvement to an old classic

I've owned three Regal saddles and the Regale was a replacement for my current Regal. The rails are in a different position. With my old Regals I had to slam them all the way back. With the Regale it is almost all the way forward. The shell is closer to the rails and I had to raise the saddle height about 5mm. The cover is Microtex, has a slightly different feel. The old Regals felt like riding on a 2x4 for the first 2K or so. The Microtex cover would be best described as firm, not hard. After I dialed it in after about three rides it sort of dissapeared under me and I sort of forgot about it and focused on my riding (which is what you want in a saddle). The shell is the same length and width as the old models, and it's the shape that most Regal users like. Great improvement for an old classic. wish San Marco would do the same for the Rolls (are you listening San Marco?).

A great saddle,in a new lighter wieght.

I like the width and no frills , old school shape. Just a plain comfortable saddle with no gimmics.

Solid feel

I have about 2000 miles on the Regale now. If you are looking for a firm platform for your tush, this is your saddle. Just because this saddle is firm doesn't mean that it's uncomfortable, just the contrary. Was using a Fizik Antares (hated it)and this was a great improvement. No saddle sore. Just remember that saddle comfort is really subjective. I would suggest demo'ng several saddles. This saddle is the anti-Fizik as many riders feel the Fizik's are too bouncy. Hope this helps.

Old classic made better and lighter

I'm an avid cyclist, ride 6 to 7 days per week all year round. I've bought more saddles than you can imagine, the last one was an SMP Avant. The SMP Avant saddle was a bit too wide and had too much padding so I ended up with lots of chaffing. I had sold an older version of the San Marco Regal with the brass rivets. I decided to try this saddle because of its firm feel and shape. I have not been disappointed, it's much lighter than the older version, feels the same but it's narrower so there is more room for your thighs in the pedalling motion. Very happy with my purchase and as a gold member saved some money. I have big thighs, so this saddle works great for me.

Good racer-style saddle for wide sit bones

First, it's 150mm wide in back, and if your sit bones need 150mm, there are only a couple saddles that wide in back ... that are also narrow through the thighs to nose. Firm but not harsh. Wide, flat rear is good support for hammer-down time trialing. This could be my pick for ideal saddle ... if it had a channel or other, more forgiving features under the p-nerve. Not a show stopper, as the Regale does have some features in this area, and so has some give built-in. I have no problems with rides up to about an hour and a half, and for longer rides simply shift around on the saddle to provide relief. Barring some new, 150mm saddle with a cutout, I would buy the Regale again.
