Training or Racing

This really is a do it all tire, training or racing. It is my new go to tire with out breaking the bank or being to fragile for every day riding.

great training tire, have ridden over a year with only one flat!

Everyday riding, training. Have been riding this tire for about a year and half, only one flat and that was a puncture from a large piece of scrap metal.

1400 miles on this set so far and these tires are great! Buying another set now for my new ride.

I ride an average of 150 - 200 miles on road by myself and with a group. I can not remember a flat with these tires and I have put more than 1400 miles on them in the 7 months I have owned them. Corners well, rolls well, but the thing I noticed right away is how easy it is to mount them without a tool.

Soft ride, cut and puncture resistant

I have had these for about 500 miles and they are cut resistant and I have not had a flat yet. Coming from Michelin Pros they are mushy and not the same road feel at all. For the first 100 miles after switching over I always thought I had a flat tire. I prefer the racing tire that is more responsive but that is a preference. I got them on sale for $25 and at that price they are a good deal. Full price there are faster tires. I shouldnt be so critical about a training tire I havent has a flat on yet though

Tons of miles, very few flats

I purchased these after the OEM tires on my Madone gave me way too much experience at fixing flats. These tires ended that problem. The first year I put 2600 miles on them with only two repairs. This year I swapped the rear to front as the rear had squared off a bit. I had another new pair of tires on standby but never needed them. Only two more flats this year and the tires will have over 5,000 miles on them when they come off this fall. Actually they'll probably stay on for the trainer this winter. They're battle scarred but refuse to give up. The one downside of all of that mileage is the lack of a round profile and the bigger foot print (nominally more rolling resistance) that results. The price is staying on the high side so I'll probably experiment with something more short lived next time around and spend less time riding on square tires. Still loved them for exceeding expectations, and especially for allowing my spare tube to stay in the bag.

Best tire I've every had.

I live in the midwest, with rough, pot holes roads. I put over 4,000 miles on my first set of tires with zero (0) flats. I'm on my second set with 1,500 miles with one (1) flat so far, bad stem from one of the tubes in my first set of tires that got 4,000 miles. Tires rolls well, not much friction. I would strongly recommend this tire, and have to my friends.

Great tire!

Since I first got my first set of thes tires last I have not gotten a flat and the back tire wore out after around 4,000 miles and the front went about 6,000. So I feel fully satisfied with these tires and will continue to buy them as needed!

This tire will give you many miles

Guys I ride with have gotten 1700 miles on these with minimal flats. Good roadtraining tire for midwestern roads. I put these on my comfortable bike for long rides 80-100 mile days.

Good Compromise

I run both UltremoZX and DuranoS tires. These Duranos are not quite as light and supple as the UltremoZX, but slightly more cut and wear resistant. For me I find them to be a good compromise. I'm currently running a DuranoS on the rear and a UltremoZX on the front. Pretty good combination.

too soft for long term use

These tires needed more and more air pressure to keep from being squishy. I am 150lbs and over a short period of time they showed major wear. Not a good training tire but supple for racing.

Wary of this tire so far

I bought four of these tires on the recommendation of this vendor. I put the first two on my wife's bicycle . I have had three flats as a result of the bead blowing over the edge of the rim. The bead seems very soft compared to other tires I have had, although this makes changing the tire easy. The rims are Reynolds, so I do not think it is because of a cheap knock off rim.

I am not convinced that this is the great tire I have seen reviewed on this site.

Good Tires

I buy these tires for my wife. She can get about a year of 200-300 miles per week out of them.

Fragile, not durable

Not Durano. My typical riding is 30-60 mile rides with some chip seal. Two rear tires blew out with sidewall splits with 300-600 miles on them. If you don't suffer the same fate, you'll still get a tire that runs slow, especially in colder weather. The only good thing I can say is that these mount easily. Save your money.

By the way, my favorite tire for training is the Vittoria Rubino Pro.
