Reynolds Carbon Fiber Brake Pad Inserts

These pads are built specifically for Reynolds rims, but I've used them on Enve wheels and they work well in wet and dry conditions. I've used Campy carbon pads in the past on both Reynolds (a big no, no) and Enve wheels and they are extremely rigid and unforgiving. The compound in these pads is softer, but not squishy. This results in a more responsive brake feel. Also, the Campy carbon pads ate into the scrim of my older Reynolds after a day of extended and extremely hard braking, and I will never forgive myself. With these pads, I feel as if they would be compatible with all carbon wheel sets given that they wear faster but are ultimately more delicate on carbon scrims.

These pads have more grip and stopping power than the yellow SwissStops I had before. One reason I will also stay with Reynolds carbon fibre wheels. (You only need one reason.)

I'm using the Reynolds pads on my cyclocross bike and find that they work nicely in wet and dry conditions, paired with Reynolds or other brands' rims. Their braking action isn't super grippy, but responsive and predictable so long as you clean you pad surfaces and brake tracks regularly. Reynolds pads cost considerably less than Swiss Stop yellows, but compare well in quality. Based on total value, the Reynolds pads are hard to beat.
