ProLink Chain Lube will not let dirt and grit stick to your chain -- works great in wet or dry conditions. It greatly reduces friction and wear, allowing smoother operation of your chain and cables, and it will keep your chain and drive train area clean and seemingly drag free. ProLink is a thin-bodied lubricant that uses MFR (Metal Friction Reducer) technology, a molecule which bonds to the metal surface. It does not build up or become tacky because it contains no solids like Teflon, wax, moly, graphite or plastic. Environmentally friendly, can be shipped air and is made in the USA. 4 oz. drip bottle.

A superb road lube

I've used ProLink for many years on my road bike, having tried almost every lube on the market, and I keep coming back to it. It lubes like it was wet, and stays clean like it was dry. It goes on light, dries fast, leaves absolutely zero residue, and runs very clean. My chain is not just quiet it is totally silent. The lube's easy to renew, and cleans the chain when you do. It is not one of those light lubes that wears out during a century ride, and it's so easy to apply lightly and cleanly that re-lubing is about as easy as filling a water bottle or pumping a tire.

I don't know how this would work if you like to lube, say, monthly, or if you ride in mud. For you coastal types, YMMV, as I live in Utah and don't ride my road bike much in the rain or snow I use Phil's on my commuter, so don't need this for a wet weather lube. Utah is dusty and dirty, and this stuff runs cleaner than any lube I've used without ever wearing thin or squeaking.

BTW, I also put a drop or two on pivots, pedals, cable housings, and other moving metal. Summary it's light and clean but never wimpy, and it really works.

Prolink is the best stuff out there

This is not DuMonde or Tri-Flo. ProLink is a strong solvent in addition to being a great lube. The trouble many run into is applying too much. Best time to apply is after a ride and at least 12 hours before the next one. To get the gunk off with the first application, spin the chain quickly and apply in a thin stream ONCE around Don't over do it. Let it sit for a few minutes and then go back and wipe off the crud and the excess ProLink, and wipe it off link by link. Take the time to work the chain around and wipe off every link. The next step is crucial Let it all dry. Overnight is best, but as much time as possible helps. After the first application, five or six drops will keep things humming. Be sure to wipe the chain clean of any excess every time.

A light, clean lube, easy to apply

I've used ProLink on my road bikes, mountain bikes, and tandem, for several years. This is a light, clean, lube, with solvent properties, that is very easy to apply. You will be applying it more than some other lubes (Du Monde, or Chain-L, for examples), as the lubribation properties do wash and wear off, more quickly.

For riding in Soggy Oregon, my Rain Bike gets another lube, but all the rest use ProLink. ProLink lubricates quite well, and doesn't atrack much dust or grime, IF you use it spairingly. Just don't expect it to last for 100s of miles, between applications. ProLink is light enough to use on cables, pedal cleats, and pivot points, as well. Overall, still a great lube, even after all these years.

Great stuff, use it regularly

It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Put it on, wipe off excess, let it dry. Its that easy. If you use it improperly, it will collect dirt like other oils. When used as directed, it works great!

One product to clean and lube

After several different lubes I settled on ProLink as my GO TO lube. It works well in hot and cold climate and does a good job repelling dirt. Best of all it cleans off well - does not get gummy. Good Stuff

Best Lube I've Ever Used

I've been using Prolink Progold for about five years and it's the best lube I've ever used. One of its main advantages is that Prolink is actually a solvent and a lube in one and hence, if you do have any grime built up in your drivetrain, Prolink will remove it as it lubricates.

The key to using Prolink properly is to allow it to fully dry before riding. If you don't, Prolink will turn your drivetrain black but it lubricates despite this color change. If you want to keep your drivetrain with that freshly cleaned, bare-metal look longer, follow the instructions below.

Twice a year, I give my chain this full metal jacket treatment.

1) Remove the chain from the bike.

2) Bathe in odorless mineral spirits for about two hours.

3) Remove the chain, wipe clean and allow to dry for 2-3 hours.

4) Bathe the chain in Prolink overnight.

5) Clean the remainder of my drivetrain with a degreaser

6) Remove the chain the next morning, wipe and allow it to dry for a full day.

7) Put chain back on the bike.

Every 70-100 dry miles, I apply Prolink to my chain, one drop per link, wipe with a cloth and allow to dry fully overnight. If I ride in rain, I always apply a fresh coat of Prolink afterwards. I've found that this routine works extremely well for my road bike.

One addendum I'd like to add is that I've been riding for many decades and I've tried many different types of lubes over the years...wet, dry and I even fondly remember boiling my chain in wax on the stove back in the 80's and early 90's. Prolink is superior to any other lube I've used.

I ride a bit over 5500 miles per year. I've tried many, many different brands of lube. This is my favorite.

Quality lube at a good price

I really have liked Prolink chain lube. For the dry climate I live in, I think it is the perfect viscosity to coat the chain. It seems to last longer than a couple other lubes I have used.

Greatest lube ever for all kinds of conditions...

I fully concur with all the others who rave about this lube. I use it to clean and lube my chains, and also occasionally to lube other bit'n'pieces like derailleur pivots. I never use degreaser on my chains - only ProLink.

One aspect not well explored by others is the increased longevity of chains when using ProLink. Over many years I routinely got 2,300km to 2,500km out of an Ultegra chain before it was worn/stretched to the point where it needed replacing to avoid excessively starting to wear chainring and cassette teeth.

When I switched to using ProLink, my chain life increased to 4,000 - 5,000km. All other factors - chain brand/model, bike, riding conditions, weather, roads, riding style, etc - remained the same. That alone has saved me the cost of two road chains per year.

I also used to get about 20,000km out of a pair of chainrings before the teeth were worn to the point where shifting crispness was impaired. Using ProLink, the longer chain life, in addition to the bit of lubrication provided to the chainring teeth, seems to give me about 40,000km out of a pair of chainrings. That's a lot of distance, and over the last several years doesn't give me enough sample data for a definitive conclusion (unlike with chains).

To use it, I put lots on the chain and wipe off as much as I can - that cleans as well as lubes. Then I let dry overnight before riding so that the rest of the solvent can evaporate.

One small bonus - ProLink is not flammable, so you can pack it in your bike box when traveling by plane.

Good stuff!

My favorite chain lube. It has a balance of good lubrication, good durability, and staying clean that I like. It seems to lubricate as well as any lube I've tried. It lasts longer than the dry lubes I've tried, and it stays cleaner than the other wet lubes I've tried. I like to clean a new chain thoroughly with degreaser, then apply ProGold and allow it to dry twice before putting the chain on my bike.

The Goldilocks lube - just right

I'm fastidious about keeping my drive train clean and lubed at all times. ProGold Prolink is just the right viscosity and keeps my 29er rolling in stealth mode while exploring Central Texas urban wild spaces. Before each weekend warrior liftoff I apply a drop per link and wipe thoroughly. It's amazing just how much grease and dirt comes off the chain, even after a light-duty ride. Though I use Tri-Flow for cables and pivot points, I have used ProGold and it works great in this capacity, too.

This is the only chain lube I'll ever need. Would like an extra ounce for the price. Other than that, no complaints.

Clean and smooth chain lube

I've used ProLink for several years, and it's become my routine and race day standard for road, cyclocross, and MTB. It cleans grime off your chain, and prevents buildup so long as you're careful to wipe off excess lube before riding. Some of my friends say it breaks down easily in wet conditions, but I had no such problems during a recent week-long MTB trip that featured a mix of sand, dirt, mud, and stream crossings. My drivetrain shifted just fine with daily cleaning and relube, so I'd say ProLink is pretty good as an all-purpose lubricant.

Best Bike Chain Lube I've Ever Used

If you car about chain life and a smooth running drive train then this is the product you need to be using. I've tried all kinds oils, waxes, you name it and ProLink is by far the easiest to use. It has almost doubled the life of my chains and kept my shifting buttery smooth.

As good as any chain lube out there.

This is the best chain lube I've ever used. I've been using it for years. Easy to apply and doesn't attract too much dirt. I use it to lube other bike parts too.

Works great... gotta use a lot...

Pro-Link is great lube but it's not weather-riding friendly. You end-up re-applying a lot if wet conditions prevail. In the warmer, dryer months it works really well. I haven't found anything better as of yet so I use it on all of my bikes.

Great Stuff - keeps chain clean and lubed

I love this stuff. It cleans the chain and really does seem to lubricate it well without all the mess that typical chain lubes have. I did find that it took a couple applications to really get the chain clean but after that, it seems to have stayed very clean. It doesn't attract road grime like other lubes I've used.
