They are ok for the price point

I am a recreational rider and typically will be in the saddle for several hours. I find the shorts to be okay on comfort. Some of my older Pearl Izumi shorts seem more comfortable to me but they were in the PRO price range though so that might explain the difference. I dont like the mesh like sections around the waist. The shorts dont seem to fit as snug as older models.

My go to shorts!

I've worn this short for over two years (no - not the same pair) and have accumulated several so I'll have clean shorts on multi-day rides.

They are the only short I'll buy right now. They fit well and have a great liner.

In fact, I don't use any other products of this brand but they have the shorts that are great at any price - more so at the current price.

Nice quality great service

Nice quality shorts that match my yellow jersey. Life time warranty. Some times it tasks a while to get the exchange but so far so good despite the delays.

Probably not the manufacturer's fault.

Comfortable - hope they last

I bought these to replace high end Castelli marathon shorts that fell apart after 10 washes.

The fit has been a pleasant surprise as the chamy is more comfortable than the Castelli's they replaced (and these shorts were [$] each). I particularly like where the seems are located in the rear - a lot different that most of the shorts out there. I usually ride between 50-70 miles a day and the seem placement is a big deal for me. Check it out.

My only concern is that they hold up and don't fall apart as the material seems a little light. Plus I wish they had a drawstring - particularly needed if the material begins to stretch. But so far so go - and I am waiting for the Black/Red shorts to be restocked so I can buy more.

Sizing doesn't seem to match earlier PI shorts

I always buy PI shorts in this price range, but it's been about 2-3 years since I've bought a new pair. I bought Medium based on sizing chart and also looked at older shorts in my closet. These are extremely tight, even though I'm at the low end of the size range (I'm a 32 and Med is supposed to cover 32-34). So, these are extremely tight and not as comfortable as they could be. There are also more seams than earlier models that, when this tight, are bothersome. I think, had these fit better, I would like them. Chammy and material is good. I'm being stingy on the of stars for this review mainly due to these being so tight.

Ride 200 miles every week, all year round a sore butt is inevitable if you don't wear the right shorts. These are by far the best I have wore in 12 plus years.

The padding is exceptionally well formed, no uneven pressure points. Ventilation and coolness are superb. They keep the shape after several thousand miles

Pleased with my purchase

I am 6' 1 tall and weigh 180 lbs. (although I have gone up to 190 lbs. in some years). I'd say that my thighs are average size - not skinny and not overly large. I like my shorts to fit snugly but without feeling like they're being overly tight or stretched out. I've purchased Pearl Izumi bike shorts the past twenty years and always purchase size XL. Based on reviews elsewhere, I wondered if I should purchase L (Large) this time. I'm happy that I purchased XL as usual. Size XL fits me perfectly just as they've fit the past twenty years. This time, I purchased shorts with white accents just to add some flair. They look and feel great. I've purchased higher grade Pro model shorts in the past. I've only been wearing these Elite In-R-Cool shorts for a couple of months now but think that they fit and feel like the more expensive Pearl Izumi shorts that I've worn in past years. I purchased them from Biketiresdirect at a great price. I'm happy with my purchase.

Disappointed in the thickness of the chamois.

I ride about 40 to 45 miles each day, 4 to 6 days a week. The chamois in the Pearl Izumi Elite is lighter and does not provide the padding I expected from a short of this cost and presumed quality. I can easily put 75 to 100 miles in the saddle without stopping with the other shorts in this price range. With the Pearl Izumi Elite, I'm struggling at 40 miles. They are a cool short and that might be why the chamois is softer, lighter, and doesn't provide the thicker padding I was expecting. The Elite chamois is longer, softer, flexible with protection, just not enough thickness for me. Pearl Izumi is a good product. I just expected more out of the chamois.

Excellent fit, excellent value.

Great fit, panels facilitate movement. 3D chamois is perfect amount of padding, supportive not bulky. In-R-Cool fabric does a terrific job managing moisture.
