All purpose tire at a great price

Light enough for the weekend group ride. Durable enough for daily commuting. The Stradius is really one of those products that can do it all. Just a great performing, versatile tire at a great price.

From what has got to be the only company still making bike tires in Japan.

Good all around tire

I purchased the 700x23 size. I have put about 150 miles on the tires, and performance is completely acceptable. Grips well on dry pavement. I have not attempted use on wet surfaces. So far, no flats. A good tire for the price.

Other thoughts The kevlar on these tires is extremely stiff. I'm not sure if it was my particular rims (which are somewhat old), or these particular tires, but I had a difficult time getting these tires mounted, compared to some Michelin tires I purchased several years ago. Expect to use some tire levers. Also, you will definitely need to inflate these to 100 PSI, so be sure you have a pump that can generate that much pressure.

Excellent Value

I bought these in the 26C size as a low cost alternative to the 35C tires that were mounted on my hybrid.

As expected, the difference was amazing.

My bike has rather wide rims 22mm, but no fitment issues whatsoever. I wouldn't go to a 23C however. I think that would be pushing the issue too much.

In about 800 miles over 3 months, I've had no issues.

I've also been pleased with the service from this company.

I live about 80 miles down the freeway from them, but I received 1 order(of about 4) to my doorstep 23 hours after ordering it.

My favorite tire - long lasting and inexpensive!

I ride a lot over various terrains, usually by myself, and really don't enjoy getting flats. These tires are pretty bullet-proof, usually takes a big piece of glass or a nail to get through. If they do puncture, the casing won't cause subsequent flats (which is the biggest issue I have with some high performance tires). The price is right, and they last a long time, even if you over-inflate them for TTs )

The 700 x 26c gives a fantastic cushy ride commuting or doing social rides, great puncture resistance too!

I purchased 2, size 700 x 26c for my single speed conversion. The larger air volume gives a great cushy and stable ride on the increasingly chewed up city streets around here. With plenty of rubber they handle small bits of glass and gravel nicely. I haven't flatted so far with over a year on the back tire. Although rated at 90 to 140 psi I usually inflate them to 100 psi when I want to make time and they spin nicely. I weigh 150lbs which leaves plenty of room for heavier riders to adjust accordingly. I've let them go down to 70 or 80 before I notice they are getting too squishy, so less maintenance. The weight at this size might make it tough to hang on at 20mph or climbing but fine for social rides. The sidewalls appear to be holding up great unlike similar tires (Zaffiro's) which show cracking quickly. Easily worth a few extra dollars and a steal on sale.

These tires are very good tires for touringtraingdaily use.

I use these tires on a road bike for training rides and like the way they hold up and feel they are very good value.

Great tire for the money

I have ridden a wide selection of road tires and bought these for my girlfriend for her commuter road bike. They are a great deal and they seem every bit as good or better than all of the overpriced Continental tires I have had on my road bike. Plus, unlike the Continental tires, you can actually get them on and off of your rims without breaking tire levers or your fingers. I have always like Panaracer's mountain bike tires, so I thought that I would give these a try. I think they are well worth what they cost. Made in Japan. Enough said.

Good value, hart to mount

These tires are relatively inexpensive training tires that seem to be wearing well. However, they are really hard to mount. I put them on my wife's bike, which may have been a mistake - I'll find out the first time she has a flat....

Still like them

This an update to my review of 1-17-2012.

Since I've had these, I built a set of wheels with skinnier rims (Sun Rims M13II).

I tried some smaller size tires with them.

Vittoria Zaffiro in 25mm. I took those off after a very short time. Cornering traction was sub par for this 230 lb. rider. I don't go THAT fast, but I had the rear jump out a couple times.

Serfas Seca 23mm front, 28mm rear. Maybe it was a fluke, but for someone that is usually quite lucky when it comes to flats, my luck changed dramatically. Twice with a fine piece of wire and once a small pebble in about 200 miles. One problem with this tire is that it seems 'sticky, holding sharper pebbles to the tire so that you keep thumping over it. I got tired of having to reach down to sweep the pebble off the front with my hand. On the rear, i had a pebble work through and cause a flat.

I've since remounted these tires and am smiling again. I have about 1500 miles on them and expect that much more. I did rotate them upon remounting. I had to use my caliper to distinguish which was the rear, so they do seem to wear well.

These WILL be my tires of choice when I need replacements.
