Mavic's top cross-country mountain wheelset is lighter and more responsive for the ultimate race day advantage.
The Crossmax SLR uses a 19mm UST rim to keep the weight low, deliver a dynamic ride and provide great compatibility with a wide range of tire widths. Next, Mavic uses their new 3D Inter Spoke Milling 3D process to remove every bit of excess material between the spoke from the rim lower bridge and sidewalls, furthering the weight reduction without sacrificing strength. Both the front and rear rim are asymmetric to create a stronger wheel with more even spoke tension despite wheel dish. Finally, to shave a few more grams, the SLR rim features fore milling technology. By drilling spoke holes through only the lower section rim, Mavic creates a flat rim bed which not only reduces weight, eliminating the need for a rim strip, but also increases strength and makes UST tubeless tire installation a snap.
Straight pull Zicral alloy bladed spokes are light and strong thanks to the elimination of the J-bend weak point of traditional spokes. 20 spokes per wheel laced 2 cross front and Isopulse rear (2 cross non-drive; Radial Drive-side).
The wheels spin on buttery smooth QRM+ bearings which are housed in oversized alloy hubs with a titanium end cap on the rear drive side axle. The new ITS-4 freehub body features a strengthened pawl design for efficient transmission.
The Crossmax SLR Wheelset is compatible with standard 6-bolt disc rotors and both standard quick release skewers and 15mm thru-axles (front and rear), right out of the box. 26 Inch (559 ISO). 1440 grams/set (claimed weight). White hubs with double anodized Black/Silver rims.
