Pro-level fit with more affordable materials. The new Giro Apeckx is the best value in Giro's high performance road line.

The sole is made from DuPont™ Zytel® nylon, a stiff and lightweight composite material that's more affordable than carbon. For the upper, the Apeckx uses a microfiber material that's breathable and foot conforming. Giro's Molded EVA footbed offers medium arch support, and features Aegis, an anti-microbial fiber which helps eliminate odor causing bacteria.

The replaceable ratcheting buckle and two strap closure system is secure yet comfortable. An off-set "D-ring" at the center strap provides extra fit adjustment, while eliminating pressure points.

The Apeckx weighs 285 grams in size 42.5. Compatible with standard three-bolt road cleats.

This size chart provides our best estimate for which European shoe size to choose based on your US shoe size. This will not necessarily match the US size shown on the product, but it is the best guidance we can provide for this particular brand.

If we've noticed that any particular model deviates from the standardized chart, we will list this information in the product description.

Excellent entry-level road shoe for the budget-minded.

This shoe is a very good deal when bought from BTD at [$]! I have an older pair that is the HV version, which means it is for fatter feet, hence, High Volume.

I used the first pair for well over 1 year and rode about 2k miles with them. No complaints at all, except I don't have fat feet and the take up ratchets always bottomed out. They were OK with heavier socks, thicker insoles. The shoe is very durable, rode in wet conditions a number of times and they held up well. Even though the sole is nylon instead of carbon, it is very stiff and worked well to transfer power, no noticeable flexing.

I think these new shoes will be great and no more bottomed out ratchets on the adjustment!

The size chart is very accurate for me. I wear a US size 12.5 and the European 46.5 fits me absolutely dead-on.
