With the Edge 510, Garmin brings touchscreen technology to their mid-priced 500 series.

But a revamped user interface is just the beginning. The Edge 510 delivers all the GPS enabled functions of its predecessor, along with brand new "connected" features to push your cycling experience to the next level. Unlike the basic 510 model, this Bundle includes Garmin's premium heart rate strap and cadence sensor.

The Edge 510 still tracks distance, speed, and altitude via GPS, just like the 500. But where this new computer really stands out is in its ability to offer live tracking, auto uploads to social networking sites, Bluetooth/smart phone connectivity, and weather alerts -- features Garmin calls part of their new "Connected" family. The Edge 510 also supports activity profiles, allowing you to configure data and settings based on which your bike riding and which terrain is on the itinerary.

The 510 touchscreen display has been designed for easy operation with full fingered gloves and is built tough enough to withstand off-road abuse.

This Edge 510 Bundle includes Garmin's heart rate strap, and cadence sensor. It's compatible with ANT+ devices, all of which are sold separately. Garmin's new Front handlebar mount is also included, helping to free up bar real estate. A base version with just the computer and basic accessories is also available separately.

In the box:

Very Satisfied

I have been using this GPS-based cycling computer for a couple of months now. It works as advertised to provide GPS-based speed readings and barometer-based climbing data, and integrates seamlessly with my Stages power meter to provide power and cadence information. The customizable display is nice, providing the information needed. The wireless mobile phone syncing is nice, though I sometimes have to disconnect the iPhone and Garmin and re-pair them, or delete and reinstall the app in order for the two to link together, which is a minor annoyance sometimes but can be worked around. I also believe the backlighting for use in dimdark conditions could be improved, as it is only temporary and I have found no way to keep it on instead of having to fiddle with it. Both mounting options work perfectly and very simply. A great system. All in all, a nice and easy-to-use product. I'm yet to tap into the more advanced features offered, but if you can afford it, an excellent cyclo computer to provide all of your critical data, including power if you use it. Recommended!

Indispensible training tool

This device is a really good investment if you are serious about cycling. Watching your cadence and HR as you ride is a good way to prevent bonking and/or reaching past your max HR which can lead to near fainting or fainting spells during training rides or any kind of ride. Mounting is easy and the sensors are reliablle, and appear to be accurate. Using the GPS/GLONASS did not drain my battery that much. I did a century ride and I still have half full battery. To protect this device I bought the garmin silicone case and ZAGG invisible shield screen protector. I recommend this product.

Good overall product

Too many menus. Not an easy setup out of the box. It does track better than most GPS systems. The size of the unit itself is nice and compact. It comes with several mounting options and multiple mounts for multiple bikes. Overall a good product.

Everything you need from a cycling computer in a small package...

Would be even better if it did real-time update via strava vs through uploads.

My first Garmin with minor issues

I had trouble connection to my device at first, but after 1 month of use i see no trouble anymore. I can't figure out what was wrong with my device. But it resolved it's problem on it's own. It had been updated to the latest firmware since the day i started using it. The price from BikeTiresDirect was just unmatched and i now enjoy all the features from the Garmin Edge 510 to it's fullest. Gps is very accurate and i love all of it's features.

The best product is worth the money

It works great with ANT+ devices. Garmin supports the product better than most other companies. Displays more details, and allows you to change display.

It cost more than all the other bike computers, bigger, and weighs more. The payoff is with more details of the rides.

Would have been nice to have maps on it. The higher models have maps.

Great product...have not yet had the chance to use the Garmin app on my computer.

I like the product a lot...it is a bit complicated to use and I haven't yet fully realized the complete functionality of the unit. But I'm looking forward to spending some time with it.

Product is easy to use and setup for customized screens and multiple bikes.

One of the only products that Ive purchased that did not require reading the manual to get it setup and customized. The interface is intuitive and well designed. Customizing the information displayed is extremely easy. Device synced easily with HR monitor and speedcadence sensor. Device also include a ton of fields to display, including grade, lap times, etc. Highly recommend this product.

This is a great cycling computer, I highly recommend getting one.

The touch screen works great. I wasn't sure how much I would like it, but the user interface is simple and easy to navigate. If you have the 500 you don't need to rush out and buy this, but the 510 is a great computer.
