Fizik's Ardea Versus saddle delivers many of their top top technologies at an entry level price.
A Versus center channel helps relieve pressure and prevent numbness on extended rides without weakling the structural integrity of the saddle or creating pressure points like a center cutout will.
The shape falls into the 'Chameleon' family of Fizik's Spine Concept system, meaning the Ardea is geared toward cyclists right in the middle of the flexibility scale. Foam padding and a flexible Nylon shell provide comfortable flex with plenty of cushioning and support at the sit bones. Scooped out areas at the sides are covered in a slick fabric to prevent thigh contact and eliminate chafing during pedal stroke.
A flexible Nylon shell he tough yet breathable Microtex cover and integrated scuff guards provide wear and tear resistance. Manganese rails keep the weight down without sacrificing strength.
The Fizik Ardea is available in Black or White. 142mm x 173mm. Claimed weight: 264 grams. Made in Italy.

good setup for me
first, saddle fit is an individual thing. i like to move around a bit on a saddle depending on what i am doing (e.g. cruising, climbing, or on-the-rivet). i tried the fizik airione. it allowed for plenty of movement but was too narrow. traditional shapes with a dip like the fizik aliante or the old corsa style seem to want you to sit in a specific spot. this saddle, with the vs channel, is a bit flat and has a wider nose. all this really works for me. i completed a 450 mile week on it and i still like it. i may try a fizik antares vs next.
