Low mileage tire for beginners

This is a low end product. You will not get a lot of miles out of them. Once you start experiencing flats it's time to change them and upgrade. Light weight, pretty good tracking. If you are a beginner in road bikes or don't plan on riding thousands of miles annually this isn't a bad deal.

Looks great. But like the others, a very poor tire. Less than 2K and they are splitting at the tread and at the rim bead coming apart.

Road bike. Great looking, but you can't have a good ride on looks. It is the poorest tire i have ever owned and i have been biking for 30 years.Replaced before 2k miles because they were cracking at the tread and many flats.Way to soft and little puncture resistance. DON'T BUY!!

Won't Hold Up

These are really cheap tires and a disapointment. They are prone to punctures and excessive wear with low miles. Save your money and invest in a better tire.

These may cost less, buy them and you will see why.

don't disregard poor reviews

I bought these tires despite the (mostly) bad reviews. I thought that it might have been due to hard riders that are more demanding of a tire than I am. Big mistake. Yesterday the sidewall completely blew out of my rear tire just around the 500 mile mark on these. There are better tires for better prices elsewhere on this site. I don't imagine that continental will be making these much longer. Forty bucks for less than 500 miles out of a tire? I now think that the (very few) good reviews may be from continental themselves or maybe the internet has made me become too cynical.

Do not buy - The per mile cost is way to high - soft tread wears quick and flats frequently

I purchase 5 pair, still have one tire remaining, so I think I gave them a fair shot - I am not at all pleased with the wear or the flat resistance.

Great tire at an affordable price

I used Ultra Gatorskins, Ultra Race and Ultra Sports for the past 6 years and would recommend them to anyone. I've run these U sports up to 2200 miles without a single puncture. I've installed on many customers bikes that I do work on and they all are very satisfied with them. They hold up quite well and if you do have a tire ending accident then you're not out $45 - $60. Buy a set for under $50 and change them every 2000 miles.

I've had these tires up to 48 mph and through turns at 30 and they held like glue. Chip seal roads don't tear them up. I have them on 3 personal bikes with a total of 6500 miles and ZERO flats.

Highly recommended!

You get what you pay for!

I have bought 3 of these tires...DOH! My mistake. I bought on price alone since I only get to ride a couple days a week due to work, I thought I could get away with saving a few bucks. I have about 1600 miles on the rear and seem to get a flat at least every other week. I have checked thoroughly that the rim tape is in place and the tube is seated properly but the riding surface of the tire gives no protection against glass or even sharp rocks. Yesterday, I had an explosive blow-out where the tire blew a 2 12 inch split with the tire fibers coming out and everything (tube was 120 psi) luckily I didnt go down. I won't buy these again. They seem to be poorly constructed.

Good tire for the price

The price was great and have logged over 1000 miles on these tires. I am impressed with how they held up, no cuts or holes, like some others I had that were more expensive. I ride on chip sealed roads and other roads that have debris on them. They have held up fine, I am buying some more

Decent value. Nice tire for the casual cyclist.

The previous reviewers have been pretty harsh on this tire. For the money, they are not bad. I put a pair of these on my girl-friends bike and she rode them all summer without a hitch. She also loved the way the blue color matched her bike.

Of course, there are lots of better tires on the market, but not at this price. If you don't ride a lot and are looking for a nice looking tire that will hold up fairly well for a couple thousand miles, these are a good value.

Track bike training clincher

I use these on my track bike training clincher wheels. I race on tubulars. Not so good on the road though, got too many flats! I love my Conti ForceAttack tires!

Terrible

Without question the worst cycling product I have ever purchased. Punctures easily and frequently. Wears fast. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

casing disintegrates

After 1000 miles, the casing threads 'unraveled', allowing the tube to bubble through, and flatting. Tread seemed to wear very quickly, had the flat profile after same 1000 miles.

I have had good conti tires, but these are not good.

Pleased for the price

Converted my 20 year old Trek 8000 hard-tailrigid fork aluminum (very early) MTB to a road bike. Replaced V-Brakes with SRAM road calipers. Bike is white with blue labeling. Cables are white. Rims are white. Brake calipers are white. Bar tape blue. Tires blue. It works!

So far so good

These came standard on my Motobecane. I've put about 600 miles on them with out a flat. I generally ride about about 16.5 miles an hour on pretty clean highways, but have hit a few bumps and glass along the way. And I keep the pressure at about 100 PSI. They feel a bit heavy, but otherwise no complaints. If I was buying new they look expensive.

Great use everyday tire

I've been using Continental tires for 20 years and the Ultra Sport just works. It holds up well- I can usually get a season's worth of riding (5K) out of them. Several of my rides are on county roads with rough pavement and potholes and I very seldom get tread cuts. I can usually mount them on my wheels with just my fingers or at worst, a couple of tire irons. I feel they are a pretty good value- especially on sale at Bike Tires Direct!
