Castelli's pro-inspired Gabba rain protection line now offers three season versatility.

The Gabba Convertible Jacket is a lightweight, aerodynamic garment that excels in cold and wet conditions, yet won't leave you overheated during hard efforts.

The main portion of the jacket is made from Windstopper® X-Lite Plus fabric. This stretchy, form fitting material delivers incredible wind and water protection without giving up moisture transfer. The arms are easy to remove, simply unzip and stash them in your pocket for additional airflow. Under the arms, Castelli uses their highly breathable and water resistant NanoFlex Lycra, the same stuff used in their popular arm and leg warmers.

The backside of the jacket is outfitted with a Storm-Flap for wheel spray protection, and the three rear cargo pockets feature eyelet holes for drainage. A full length front Cam-lock YKK zipper is easy to operate from the saddle, and extensive reflective accents provide extra visibility in poor conditions.

The Gabba Convertible Jacket is available is available in Black/Reflective Silver.

My favorite foul weather piece

5'11 160lbs 30 waist, 40 chest, size L. Outstanding quality and amazing versatility. Superior wind and water protection. It isn't waterproof but it will keep you dry in all but a downpour. The cut is fantastic - no flapping in the wind but enough room to layer up, the extra long tail keeps you covered in the drops, and the neck is snug but doesn't choke. Great features, too Vents extremely well thanks to the 2 large side zips, nice reflective striping on the back, and love the drain holes in the rear pockets. I've worn it in the 50s with a light base layer, all the way down to the 30s with a couple of thermal layers. Highly recommend.

If it's gonna be wet you better go Gabba

These latest offerings from Castelli are great - perfect for those days where it's already wet or it going to be. I've got this jacket as well as the vest and short sleeve jersey and have been happy with all of them. Great race fit - no cape flapping in the wind and struggling to get it on or off. The,jacket is doubly great as the sleeves zip off to leave a short sleeve version albeit slightly warmer than the SS jersey. Great in changeable weather. Excellent Castelli attention to detail with extended back giving added rain protection, reflective striping on back and drain holes in the pockets.

castelli mens Gabba jacket is a great buy.

Castelli mens Gabba jacket stop wind keeps you warm in 40 degree weather. If you are sizing the jacket go up two sizes from what you are use to.

Great, versatile piece of kit

I got this jersey/jacked for our unpredictable Fall weather in Michigan. BUT it has far exceded my expectations. With a decent base layer it is all I need for a 2-hour ride in mid 40 temp. Caught miles from home in a rain-sleet-hale storm, the Gabba kept me dry! Maybe not bone dry but dry enough to get back ok. Found myself wishing for some Gabba tights... One caveat the fit is quite snug, especially around my old man's belly. All in all, this is the most useful piece of kit in a long time. When the real cold comes I'll use it under a winter jacket and next Spring, I'm set.

great comfort at near zero with wool base layer

Like previous reviews the jacket is a correct fit for athletic build. Doesn't flap - gives the rider a 'pro' look. Quality is great. Buy good gear and you won't regret it.

Great piece of kit - very useful

Living in a very rainy climate I've developed a bit of a fetish for wet weather gear which lead me to purchasing the Gabba Convertible Jacket. I have to say this has turned out to be my most worn fall/early winter jersey because it does chilly, damp weather very well. If the weather isn't too cold, unzip the sleeves and wear arm warmers. If it's on the colder side, leave the arms on and pair with a long sleeve UnderArmor type base layer; you will stay surprisingly warm. This jacket does breathe quite well.

Now with regard to how well this jacket works in rain, if you were to believe the CastelliGarmin advertising you would think this jacket is totally waterproof. It isn't, in a downpour you have about a half hour before you will be totally soaked. For a high tempo ride this won't be a problem if paired with the proper base layer. On a more leisurely ride, where a lot of body heat isn't being generated, a proper rain jacket will be required.

I highly recommend this product.
