The world's best mechanical disc brake gets an overhaul, dropping weight while picking up a stylish new look.
To shave a few grams off the original BB7, and meet the demands of competitive road and 'cross riders, the BB7 SL features feather-weight Titanium hardware, alloy backed pads, and drilled rotors. Its new polished finish beautifully matches road components; and of course, the SL is compatible with standard short pull brake levers found on drop bar bikes.
Like all the brakes in Avid's BB series, the BB7 SL calipers rely on ball bearings for smooth operation and serviceability. A two piece forged alloy body provides an outstanding strength to weight ratio, and the caliper and rotor tip the scales at a respectable 276g (actual; 140mm).
Hassle-free adjustment features like the Tri-Align™ caliper centering system micro-adjust pad position makes it easy to perfect your set up. Both the inboard and outboard pad position can be set with the turn of dial.
The BB7 SL Disc Road Calipers are available in Silver and sold individually. Each set includes one caliper, one set of organic compounds with alloy backing, and either one 140mm or one 160mm HS1 rotor. The included rotor is compatible with standard 6-bolt hubs. All mounting hardware is included. Brake levers and cables are not included. The actual weight is 276g for the rotor and caliper (140mm rotor without hardware).
