Incredible value for the day to day commuter--Competitively prices, yet last 5x longer!!!
I have been very frustrated over the years with flats, and managing their repair in my daily commute into boston. I pile on about 3700 miles per year. I put these tires on back in February '09, and they are still going strong. Take out about a month of winter riding switching over to my ice bike on my hakkapelitta studded snow tired bike and I would estimate these Panaracer T-servs went a distance of well over 3000 miles--and are still going. Side walls are showing some crackinig, but the front tire still has it's factory tread profile, and the rear shows minimal wear. I run them at 120 psi, and they are super hard. Here is the kicker--NO FLATS in over a year. I think of all of the hours I've saved along NOT repairing flats. My daily ride goes through boston and is pretty rough for glass, gravel, road trash, and broken pavement. Contrast this to the conti's that I was paying 40 to 60 bucks a piece for and never really getting past 500 miles before the first flat discarding them. These tires do do give up a litte in the way of handling. I find these tires are much more quick to go into a skid when you lock up the brakes, even with just a medium hard breaking action. I do not get very aggressive in cornering with these tires, especially when wet or if there is any sand. It is noticcebly less cornering and traction. For my purposes, this tire has found the correct comprimise for performance and mileage. You jus have to adjust your riding style a little. All in all, low rolling resistance and high high mileage, robustness from flats. I will not ride anything else.
