Kenda Kross Plus 26x1.95" Tire

i have used these before and they are great. after about 1,000 miles i got new tires. they are fun to use on the trails and slid in corners. off road is fun, not the best traction for fast acceleration but fun to slid them around corners on dirt trails.

I was biking on a road I had frequented on a road bike with normal tires. On this occation with the Kenda Kross tires, on a turn, the banking invovled moving me from the smooth tread area to the knobs on the side and I lost traction and crashed. If there was a car coming it would have been a head-on. I fractured 8 ribs, broken collar bone 5 pieces and a punctured lung. I recommend that this tire is removed from the market. Once you get used to the traction on the smooth section while running straight you can be surprised CRASH! by the loss of traction in a turn.

I am a weekend warrior type and I do both road and dirt trail riding with my Diamondback Response MTB. I wanted a low-cost tire that would have low roll resistance and still function well on trails.

Here in Florida the off road trails can be very sandy in places and I am very pleased with the Kenda Kross' performance. The "shoulders" of the tread keep the bike stable in sandy patches and reduce fishtailing. They have so far help up well on rooty eroded hard trail parts as well.

The low roll resistance of the center tread has made a very noticeable improvement on the road. Just what I wanted and a value price.

I've had a pair of these on my Specialized Hardrock Sport MTB for the last 3 years, and have been nothing but completely pleased with their durability and performance. I do a lot of bike trails pavement, dirt, and back woods and on the pavement the tires glide and corner very well, feels like a road bike. On the trails they are just as good at handling the different terrain and trail conditions with the mix of mountain tread and need for speed.

It was hard geting use to the bald rubber on the road. Its a cool tire. My speed is out of control. I had to get new brakes.
