The GoreTex 288 upper is lightweight and flexible, while providing some ankle support. You get a barefoot type feel on trail or off. When choosing a size for an Inov-8 shoe, please keep in mind that they run small. If you normally wear a women's 8, for example, in another running shoe, you will probably want an 8.5. If you like a roomy toe box, occasionally wear an 8.5, or wear thick socks, you'd probably do best with a 9. Of course, if you get the shoe and want a different size, you can return the shoes to us in new condition for exchange.
