Innova Ice Husky Studded Snow Tire

Used this tire on the rear of my mt. bike all of last winter08-09 for the five mile commute to work in north-central Ohio. It performed well on ice, snow and wet pavement. I never had a flat and I rode some nasty city streets. I'll have to replace the middle studs on the rear for this winters ride and I plan on buying the same tire for the front for double the safety.

For the price it offers great peace of mind.

If you are a heavier rider I weigh about 195 these tires will cause flats. I have found that the tire backing cannot withstand the pressure that I put on them. I found that the studs will begin to work thier way through the tire backing and start to pinch holes in the innertube. I was diligent with keeping the tire pressure up but to no avail the studs started pinching my tubes again. I just installed a tire liner in each tire and hope that this will cure the problem.

I am a winter rider in Anchorage, Alaska where we have snow and ice on the roads and trails from October through April. This is my second set of Innova studded tires. They wear well, hold the icy corners in very extreme conditions, and I have not had problems with flats even though I weigh above 200 pounds.

I think these tires are great. I have them on the front and rear of a mt bike. I commute in Seward Alaska and have rode in everything from pouring rain over a layer of ice to 5 degrees with a layer of ice and snow. They get great traction in all conditions. I have not had a flat and the studs are ALL there I only commute about 30 miles per week. I am not sure about the heavy guy with the flats I weigh 201 lbs. I highly recommended these tires!

Weighs a ton but 268 carbide studs!!!! Very challenging to mount - a tough tire generally - forget mounting without the help of tire levers maybe easier on wide rim. Performs like a champ. On ice? only slightly less grip than loose gravel. Ride cautiously and there's no problem. I love them!
