When conditions are at their worst and only maximum puncture protection will do Continental PLUS breaker is the reliable answer. The PLUS breaker utilizes an extra-duty, highly elastic casing belt that is virtually impervious to road hazards. What this means is you get a lively feeling tire with out all the extra weight of a tire liner but the added protection to get you where you want to be. Smooth center for low rolling resistance and a more pronounced side tread for water dispersion and extra grip in the rough stuff. Also features a reflective sidewall stripe for added visibility in low light conditions. Wire Bead. 700c (622 ISO) Sizes.

No problems with this tire

I replaced Marathon XR's after 6000 miles with this Continental. 1500 flat free miles later I'm totally satisfied. It's light, rolls smoothly, mounts easily, and show no signs of thread wear. For the price, what's there not to like?

You can't buy better

I have used these tires on four trips to Russia on every kind of road and path you can imagine. I never had a flat, I never had a grip problem in sand or anything else. If you want a tire that will take you thousands of miles without any problems, this is the tire for you. To the reviewer who says otherwise, you just haven't really put the tire to a test and I think your review is phony. These tires are so good that I gave my last set to a friend in Russia after I toured for a month on them and he has used them for three years. Believe me biking in Russia will put tires to the ultimate test. There is no better tire for touring than Continental. Jim Hainen

Harsh riding, heavy and not certainly not flat-proof

I wanted a durable tire with lots of traction for winter riding. The Touring Plus was a disappointment, and generally I really like Continental tires. At first I noticed that they were heavy. That's okay, if the trade-off is better flat protection. Unfortunately, due to the deep tread grooves, a piece of glass wedged itself in my front tire and flatted. This happened after about 100 miles on the road. The deep groove has another disadvantage- it tends to catch small edges like thick bike lane paint strips and other pavement anomalies.

On the plus side, the reflective stripe works very well. It also includes a strip for contact with a side mounted light dynamo.

I have ridden Schwalbe Marathons extensively. I would recommend the Schwalbe over the Continental.

Took Contacts coast to coast, 40025 miles, no flats! Touring 2000s last year,400300 miles seven flats.

In 2006 I solo toured from San Francisco to Boston 40025mi with Continental Contacts 700x37 on a loaded Surly with four panniers. I had no flats! I did use thick tubes and puncture shields, but this was the first time I have had such good luck. 2008 I did a tour from Vancouver BC to Key West Florida with a set of 700x37 Continental Touring 2000s a discontinued model. I had worn out two sets of these prior to my 2006 tour. I thought they were a better tire, but I had seven flats and replaced the back tire at 3500 mi. They both run well in the rain and have touched 50MPH down mountain passes on both. I have logged 14000 miles on Continental products and paid for them all personally. I trust these tires with my life.

Squirrely!

For years I commuted on Continental's Top Touring tire and loved them. When my last pair wore out, I couldn't find them. I decided to try these and what a difference not in a good way! These tires are squirrely, both straight ahead and in a corner. If you let the pressure go down a little or if you load your bike up, they get worse. Can't comment on wear, have only had them on about two weeks. Bring back Top Touring!
