Continental City Ride Tire

Comfortable yet responsive tire for commuting, but not impressive for puncture protection.

I like the way the tire rides, but in 3 years of 30 mile per day 3 day per commuting, I'd only had 4 flats. So having one after just a few uses, dead center in the thickest part of the tread was a bit discouraging. It's only a first impression, but a pretty bad one.

I commute 173 miles a week,45 weeks a year. I weigh 150lbs and carry a 10 to 15lb pannier. I use these tires as they seem to minimise flats related to puncture vine goat heads, glass and road debris. I experience about 2 to 3 flatsyear which is quite good considering the miles ridden and no other flat prevention methods no slime or tire liners are used. The rear tire lasts 3500 miles, while the front lasts about 6000 to 8000miles. My only gripe is that the reflective sidewall is no longer sold state side at least not that I have found. I would highly recommend these tires everyone.

This is a fine tire if you don't ride your bicycle much. I had a pair wear out to where the fabric is showing after a little more than 500 miles. Not recommended for touring nor for regular commuting.
