Not bad, but not great.

Not a bad light if you just want to be visible. Don't depend on it to light your path very well though.

Cat Eye has a light with nearly 10x the candle power for $20 more that uses one more AA battery, and gives 30 hours more run time. I use both, simply because I bought the cheaper model first and was disappointed in the light output. I use this model on flash to warn motorists, and the HL-EL530 to light my way.
