Campagnolo 2009 Centaur Ultra Shift Carbon Shift/Brake Levers

The new ergonomics of Ultra Shift hoods and carbon levers. Campagnolo has provided the choice between Alloy and Carbon in the 2009 Centaur group. They offer Alloy for those who love its classic look and durability without having to accept a lower-end group. They offer Carbon for those who love its hi-tech characteristics but want a more affordable group than Record or Chorus. Previously they only offered this choice in the Crankset, but are now extending it to shifters and rear derailleur.

Completely re-designed ergonomic hoods and levers require less actuation force to shift. The hoods have a larger surface area with two distinct hand positions and larger front bump for more stability. The hoods also use Vari-cushion which acts like memory foam to conform to the hand. Channels help disperse heat. New cable routing eliminates the bulge at the hood. The levers have more room underneath to wrap the hand around, shorter reach, and have two bulged pull sections for easier braking. A shim is provided to lengthen the reach for riders with larger hands. A new pivot point further eases braking and increases modulation. Low friction cables and housing included. Carbon fiber levers. Double and Triple compatible. 10 speed compatible only. 344 grams/set (weighed without cables or housing).
