Campagnolo Centaur Ultra Torque Carbon Crankset

Carbon technology at an affordable price. Campagnolo has provided the choice between Alloy and Carbon in the 2009 Centaur group. They offer Alloy for those who love its classic look and durability without having to accept a lower-end group. They offer Carbon for those who love its hi-tech characteristics but want a more affordable group than Record or Chorus. Previously they only offered this choice in the Crankset, but are now extending it to shifters and rear derailleur.

Updated chainrings with black finish for 2009. Unidirectional carbon is used to form a super strong crankarm with multi-directional carbon over top in the directions of greatest stresses. The Ultra Torque design uses an oversized spindle pressed into each crankarm and meets mid-bottom bracket shell in a Hirth joint and secured by a bolt. The spindle rests on outboard bottom bracket cups allowing larger bearings for longer life. The oversized spindle and wide placement of bearings increase stiffness. Q factor is unchanged from previous Campy cranks so adjustments need not be made to the pedals or cleats. 10 Speed. 707g (175mm, 53/39, without bottom bracket cups)
