If you are not sure which brand or model of tires are best suited to you, let us
make a couple of suggestions based on our experience. If you need help
determining tire size, see our

and Tread Patterns guide. Also see our
Tube Types
and Sizes guide.
Continental
Continental bicycle tires are made in Germany and
are among the highest performing tires we sell.
Continental Grand Prix 4000 are Continental's
latest high-performance model. These replace the extremely popular GP3000, delivering lower rolling resistance, better flat protection, and
lighter weight. These make a great all-weather training and racing tire and are available in a wide variety of colors and sizes.
Continental Attack/Force Pair Tires are still considered the flagship of Continental's clincher
tire line although they don't incorporate the latest Vectran technology. However, with specially designed tires for front and rear, you get exceptional clincher performance.
Continental Grand Prix 4-Season are specially designed
to provide extra grip in wet weather and feature unmatched sidewall and tread puncture
protection against road hazards. If you are planning a cross-state or (better
yet) cross-country ride, consider 4-Seasons.
Continental Grand Prix Supersonic are an amazingly light and well constructed clincher for time trials and races.
Combine these with an Ultralight tube and you have the least rotational inertia
possible for a clincher wheel.
Continental Ultra Gatorskin (folding) are tough as nails and make an excellent training and touring tire if you're willing to sacrifice a little rolling resistance and ride quality.
Continental Ultra Sport Hometrainer Tire are designed specifically for use on indoor trainers and rollers. They feature a special cold-running compound which prevents the heat build-up that often
causes premature damage to standard tires when used on a trainer.
Michelin
Michelin bicycle tires are
made in France and are the most popular high performance tires we sell.
Michelin Pro2 Race Tire are Michelin's top-of-the-line
clincher. They're a very supple riding tire with excellent traction and make an excellent race and performance tire.
Michelin Pro Grip Tire are designed using Formula One technology
to deliver outstanding grip even on wet surfaces. The perfect choice when racing in wetter climates.
Michelin Krylion Carbon Tire are Michelin's latest new tire designed
for training and performance riding. Combining a five-ply casing and carbon-reinforced tread, they'll last considerably longer than most performance tires.
Michelin Lithion are Michelin's newest affordable traning tire. They provide low rolling resistance and good grip at a great price.
Vredestein
Vredestein Fortezza TriComp are another great
choice for racing and performance riding. Rated at 145psi, they can be pumped up quite hard for very low rolling resistance. They have excellent grip and
look great as well.
Vredestein Fortezza also feature 145psi inflation pressure
capability, making them a great choice for racing on a budget.
Vredestein Volante are an excellent choice for traning
and performance riding. They feature the same advanced multi-rubber tread compounds for excellent grip, and PRS puncture protection system as the Fortezza Tricomp. |
